Welcome to Charming, where swirling petticoats, the language of flowers, and old-fashioned duels are only the beginning of what is lying underneath…
After a magical attempt on her life in 1877, Queen Victoria launched a crusade against magic that, while tidied up by the Ministry of Magic, saw the Wizarding community exiled to Hogsmeade, previously little more than a crossroad near the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. In the years that have passed since, Hogsmeade has suffered plagues, fires, and Victorian hypocrisy but is still standing firm.
Thethe year is now 1894. It’s time to join us and immerse yourself in scandal and drama interlaced with magic both light and dark.
Halloween events were almost always great fun, especially if you got to dress up. She had opted to dress as a fairy tale type of fairy princess with flowers in her updo and adorning her dress in a way that was elegant. She liked how 'swishy' her skirts were and she had indulged in some spins before leaving her household.
She had enjoyed a couple of dances before heading into the mirror maze. She found herself in relative privacy for a moment aside from her chaperone who was up ahead. She couldn't resist a moment of whimsy as she twirled with a melodic hum and let her skirts swish around her ankles. She was startled into stopping and let out a surprised, "oh" when she realized that she was no longer alone with her chaperone. Sometime during her twirling, a gentleman had arrived in her vicinity. Her cheeks were flushed in mild embarrassment and she was quite at a loss as to what to say.
Emmett actually quite liked costume parties. He enjoyed trying out a different sort of look in an acceptable social situation. Still, he wasn't very creative, despite Ember's assistance. She was far better at this sort of thing, but he felt like a fool in half of the things she had suggested, and so it was in a very plain, boring, bat that he had succumbed to. Still, the tailoring was elegant, as was the fabric and he didn't feel quite as silly as he ought to, he supposed. The wings came out from beneath the arms of his jacket when he extended them and that was his favorite part, as it wasn't overt unless he wanted it to be.
He too had taken a turn or two upon the dance floor before attempting the mirror maze. Emmett hadn't made it very far before watching a young lady twirl herself through the space. Smiling to himself, he watched as she stopped, hoping it wasn't on his account. Without a word, he held out a hand to guide her through another if she so desired.
