Mice - a dog of a magical species whose bark mimics other animal's sounds. It is medium-sized and pale blue in color. As such it was named Mice after the Ice Mice candy. She has had it since 1876.
General | Dru never was the shining English Rose - dark hair on dark eyes she is every bit as plain as one might expect. And honestly, growing up, she was just fine with that. She’s small-framed, having never accomplished the typically womanly curves even when aided by corsets and padding. After her marriage and even more so after the birth of her first child, she has given up trying to meet these standards and is typically found in looser fitting wizarding robes full of color and often spell-worked to show moving scenes or patterns. But it is in her expressions and body language that Dru has always stood out. She’s quick to smile, really smile where it reaches her eyes in glittering sparkles as well as shifting the corners of her lips. Even when she isn’t smiling she always has a twinkle that suggests she finds a situation amusing. Her whole demeanor is one that brings you in, convinced you are the sole object of her attention twenty-four-seven.History:

1853 - 1863 | Dru is born as what would be an older child in a large brood. She is always just a little bit odd and too dreamy for her parents' comfort. And while she does poorly in her household chores, she proves quite useful in keeping the little ones occupied and out of their hair. She spins stories for her siblings every night and somehow seems to always know what everyone has going on at any time. But as time passes, she gets odder and so do the things that happen around her. But it isn't until her eleventh birthday that they are visited by a strange man who introduces himself as a wizard that they are given an explanation for the weird things. Dru finds this news delightful, her parents not so much.Personality:
1864 - 1865 | Come September, Dru is off to her first year at Hogwarts and it is everything the professor promised her and more. Mail comes each morning delivered by owls! Her classes teach wand work and potions rather than needlework and dancing. She isn’t the weird one anymore for doing things she shouldn’t! Instead, she is completely… normal. She takes to the whole thing like a fish to water doing well in her classes and finds it easy to make friends. Two of these friends are Isabelle Elderberry and Kathleen Fray, both girls in her year. The three are quickly inseparable.
1868 | Each time she goes home for either the holidays or summer, she finds the experience more and more unnerving. Her parents seem distant and she starts to hate the feeling that she is forced to hide an important part of herself so for the summer after her fourth year she arranges with her parents to stay with Kathleen in Hogsmeade. It is this summer that she meets Isabelle’s older brother Miles. At first, he’s unpleasant to be around due to his attitude. It's his last summer before graduation and it shouldn’t be spent toting Isabelle and her friends around but by the end of the summer they have formed a tentative friendship.
1869 -1871 | When it comes time to decide if she is going to stay on for her N.E.W.T.s the choice is easy. She will. She continues on with astronomy, charms, history of magic, potions, and transfiguration but drops her electives never quite having found them all that interesting. By the end of her sixth year, she rarely goes home, communicating with her parents solely by letter and either staying at the castle or bouncing from friend to friend during the summers. It is during these two summers - before her fifth and before her sixth years - that her friendship with Miles Elderberry turns into something more. It is never anything improper - Miles is far too sweet for that - but she can feel that there is something there. And when he confesses his intention to court her at her coming out ball, Dru knows she loves him and would do anything to prove it. Including waiting Miles is old enough to marry.
1871- 1875 | She debuts alongside Kathleen and Isabelle, funded by her parents but hosted by the Frays. Dru plays the part, but her heart isn’t in it. She knows who she’ll marry. She doesn’t need to commit herself to dancing with multiple Mr. So and Sos. But she does. But the years of waiting stretch out. She knew Miles had been too young at 21 when she debuted, but suddenly it wasn’t just his age holding them back but his father’s worsening health. And then Mr. Ekderberry’s death and Miles having to learn how to run the family business.
After three years' worth of seasons, Dru decides she is quite done with the whole game of charades, and in fall of '73 she takes up a post at the Museum of Magical Miscellany as a curator.
On her 22nd birthday, the day finally comes. Miles begins to court her. To make it official in the eyes of everyone else makes the whole thing feel like a bit of a dream. She’d waited years for this and all the pieces were finally coming into place. And by the end of the next year, the pair are married.
1878 - 1881 | After a blissful first few years of marriage, the couple welcome their children - two girls and a boy - in relatively rapid succession. She takes to being a mother as quickly as she took to the museum but what she doesn’t take quickly to is just how rapidly children want their independence as soon as they can walk. She likes them right where she can see them and preferably that they are happy to be there with her.
1884 | What's promised to be a quite joyful summer with a visiting carnival is quickly… not. Miles and the children are stricken with the plague and while the children recover fully, her husband never does and passes away leaving Dru to somehow manage her grief and three children under the age of six on her own (having a strained relationship with the elder Mrs. Elderberry who never approved of her son marrying a muggleborn). Not knowing what else to do, she sells her husband’s half of the business to his partner.
1890 | Freya is the first of her children to leave the house and start Hogwarts and Dru finds herself not quite as emotionally prepared as she thought herself to be. With one child gone, she turns her full force onto the remaining two as well as Freya receiving letters and care packages each week. Slightly over-the-top care packages. She wants to include enough for her to share!
1892 | Fern is quickly approaching her first year of school and reluctant to find herself in an empty household she applies for the post of History of Magic professor she hears is opening up next year.
1893 | All three children are off to school and Dru follows them, walking the halls of the castle for the first time in twenty-two years. And it isn’t small shoes she must fill, not when the prior professor taught her and nearly forty other rounds of children.
Whimsical - Mischievous - Driven - Unrealistic
Joyful - Trusting - Absent Minded - Disorganized
- A dreamer, Dru’s head is far more often in the clouds than on her shoulders - a trait that’s only worsened since her marriage and subsequent work in the museum.
- Anyone who comes into her office is just as likely to find themselves leaving with sweets.
- Her love language is a mixture of gift giving and physical touch. While she isn’t materialistic, she views giving others gifts - especially gifts she’s made and thinks could bring joy even if they serve no practical purpose - one of the most fulfilling things she could ever do. Additionally shows her affection not just in gifts but physically as well.
- She converted her classroom into a sitting room with cushions and blankets and tells very elaborate stories using magical projections with added scents/feelings/etc. like feeling the wind or a crowd etc
