Langston Dashwood vs. Trystan Selwyn
#1
24th July, 1892 — LSPCM HQ
Enoch was not especially keen on Trystan Selwyn, as a rule, however when it came to his surety in the man's prowess against a man who tinkered with unusual charms for a living he was wholeheartedly in his colleague's corner. The fact that Selwyn had brought his wife along didn't hurt. This could very easily end in carnage and Enoch was as giddy as Enoch ever became at the thought.

"Dashwood, the floor is yours."

Swiftly, Dash cast a charm of his own invention, one that, repurposed in this capacity would cause Selwyn's clothing to constrict dramatically.

Almost lazily, Trystan raised his wand and cast a spell that ought to expel a beam of such bright light towards Dashwood that he would be effectively, momentarily, blinded – and hopefully unable to aim anywhere past it.

It took Enoch's eyes a longer moment than he would have liked to regain their focus. Whatever Selwyn's current position it was clear he had been a formidable auror in his day and, blinking rapidly, Enoch awarded him the point - though really, he could have been awarding it to a coatrack given his current scope of vision.

"A decisive win for Mr Selwyn who may begin the second round."

Trystan was momentarily disappointed not to have seen what Dashwood's spell might have done – he was sure he hadn't heard of it before, and that in itself was rare. Still, one couldn't say no to winning the round; on the offensive now, he attempted to turn his opponent into a tortoise.

Dash alternated between blinks and squints as his eyes recovered from Selwyn's defence. More or less back to the way he should be, the wizard cast a shield charm to block his opponent's spell.

Eyes only just re-focussing from the previous round Enoch saw both men for the merest of moments before Dashwood vanished and a tortoise took his place. It was a shame really, he would have liked to see what else the man could do, but Enoch had never seriously doubted Selwyn' prowess and here was his vindication.

"Well played Mr Selwyn, you will progress."
