Mission to Africa Returns
Voyager Arrives in London

Late on the evening of the 22nd, the Voyager, captained by J. Alfred Darrow and carrying various members of the local church, arrived in London having returned from an evangelistic mission trip lasting nearly a month.

The vessel departed London on July 1st. The expedition spent its time in various locations throughout the Niger delta and in territories adjacent to the Niger River, in western Africa. According to Captain Darrow the voyage was uneventful except for one incident early in the trip where an inexperienced passenger fell overboard, but was recovered quickly and without injury.

Although the ship was chartered by the church for the sake of their summer mission, various passengers not associated with the church were also allowed to book passage to and from Africa. These included magizoologists, researchers, photographers, writers, and explorers. It was even reported that infamous socialite Adelia Lovegood, known to many as the former fiancee of then-Minister of Magic Balthazar Urquart, attended as well.

Reporters were unable to speak directly with members of the expedition, who traveled via portkey from the docked ship directly back to the Hogsmeade headquarters of the church. Due to the lateness of the hour, most of them flooed home directly and were unavailable to comment. A statement from church officials, however, who had been in contact with certain key members of the expedition throughout the visit, described the mission as "generally very successful."

Church officials were not able to state positively whether they planned to pursue other trips of this nature in the future, but seemed generally optimistic. The primary difficult is the cost associated with travel and with provisions for the duration of the mission. Regarding these obstacles, however, one commented: "If the Lord wills, the Lord will make a way".
