Appearance:
Standing at 6 Feet tall, Donovan is one of the taller Connolly’s. He has an ectomorph body type, meaning he is rather lanky with a fast metabolism, although he manages to keep his muscle mass at a healthy level. In terms of looks, he has a facial structure like his fathers, framed with dark brown hair and muddy green eyes. Donovan’s wand hand is his left. He wears a range of nice muggle suits and wizard robes ranging in browns and greens.
History:
1855: Although not the first of his generation, Donovan was born as the first child to Pádraig and Caitríona Connolly. While his looks favoured his fathers, it soon became apparent he had a temperament closer to that of his mothers.
1857: Cousin Finnian is born.
1859: Perhaps it was annoyance at Finnian over his magical display that finally encouraged Donovan’s. In one of his rare tantrums, he sent a tea cup flying across the room from the other end of the room. That cheer the four-year-old boy greatly.
1860: The end of his single childhood when his sister Maeve was born. Donovan had no issues with a sibling, he had expected it at some point after growing up with his cousins. What his issue was with the girl was the noise she created and the peace she to like interfered with.
1861: Cousin’s Lorcan Byrne and Dublin Connolly are born. Brother Finlay is born, he was glad that this one was quieter.
1863: Cousin Connell is sorted into Gryffindor.
1865: Cousin Connolly is sorted into Gryffindor.
1866: Donovan and Cousin Niamh are sorted into Gryffindor, although happy to follow the family tradition, a small part of his wondered if he would have been better off in Ravenclaw.
1867: Sister Brighid and Cousin Belfast Connolly are born. Donovan is glad not to be around for another noisy sibling.
1868: Cousin Finnian is sorted into Gryffindor. Magical signs interrupt what could have been a peaceful Christmas.
1870: Brother Domhnall is born, once more another quite boy. Donovan wonders how that came to be. Cousin Connell graduates, with a lovely speech about transition from Donovan. Donovan is over joyed when he becomes the 5th year Prefect.
1871: Donovan once more becomes the Prefect for his 6th year.
1872: Maeve and cousins Lorcan and Dublin are all placed in Gryffindor. Donovan can’t help but feel sorry for the school staff that they got most of the troublemakers of their generation in one hit. While he is pleased to be a Prefect again for his 7th year, he is annoyed when the Slytherin Roberto Devine becomes the Headboy instead of himself. Cousin Connolly joins auror training program.
1873: Finlay is sorted into Gryffindor. Donovan and Niamh graduate, Donovan with great marks although it doesn’t seem to surprise his parents. Niamh goes into healing. Donovan starts his research into Magical Artefacts, traveling around the world, soon taking an interest in protecting such artefacts.
1875: Cousin Connolly becomes a full auror. Finnian graduates.
1876: Donovan reluctantly returns home and started working at the museum. Despite tradition, he moves into a cottage instead of the main house, now far to use to his own space.
1877: Niamh marries. Finnian is accepted into auror training.
1878: Brighid and Belfast are sorted info Gryffindor.
1879: Maeve, despite everything, breaks tradition and joins the auror training program while Finnian flunks out of it. Lorcan goes into training to become a mediwizard.
1880: Finlay begins training as a healer.
1881: Domhnall goes to Hogwarts and for once, a Connolly isn’t sorted into Gryffindor. Donovan is not the most supportive brother in this event.
1882: Maeve finishes her training.
1884: The laughing Plague takes several family members, co-workers and even a woman he had considered courting. Donovan starts to work more to deal with his grief.
1885: Mother sends Brighid to Pendergast School, a concept Donovan supports. Belfast starts training to be a hit wizard.
1886: Maeve makes a mockery of herself with supporting woman duelling.
1888: Somehow both Lorcan and Maeve end up eloping, even if hers was magically induced.
1889: Donovan still works as a Conservator for the Museum of Magical Miscellany, although he misses the days of travel. If not at work, he spends a great deal of time studying within the walls of his cottage, working on his novel on great magical artefacts. He only ventures into society if he has no other choice.

Donovan stared into the display case, his eyes scanned over each of the goblin made magical artefacts that where placed within. At the same time his hand moved a quill over a piece of parchment, either to ticked or crossed off the items on the list. He was glad for the small amount of ticks, as it meant less items he would have to take out and repair.
The noise of a laughing child had his eyes raised to see a woman with two young boys standing by one of the exhibits. He watched them for a moment, pleased to find the children well behaved and willing to ask the woman questions. Once assured that they would not harm the exhibit, Donovan returned to his task.
