Her hair is very blonde and falls in natural waves to her waist. It is often pulled back simply in braids and never with any special adornments, not seeing the point in them. Her eyes are a bluish hazel in color and are quite keen. She’s always watching it seems and stays very observant of her surroundings. Her clothing is definitely not of the finest make or materials and often have been mended. She wields her wand in her right hand but seems to be rather ambidextrous if the need should arise.

History:
Prebirth: Barton spent some time traveling to further his passion of baking and found himself working among an upper class muggle family in Russia in 1863. They had a daughter, a muggleborn with very little magical training, that he was instantly charmed with. She was equally charmed by him and their friendship quickly evolved into something more. When talks of eloping reached Katerina’s parents, they weren’t pleased. To smooth the situation over so as to save face, they offered the loving couple a decent amount of “hush money” which they used as seed money to start a small bakery in London in 1864. A year later, Rye was born.Personality: Reserved. Since being bullied, she tends to stay away from those she doesn’t know really well. She tends to be on the quiet side with strangers and tells very little about herself to others.
1867: Magdalena is born.
1870: Madeleine is born. Magdalena is quite curious of the little “creature” her parents show her.
1872: Herb is born. Magdalena remains curious of the little “creature.” Her parents try to break her of the habit of calling her younger siblings creatures.
1875: Magdalena shows her first signs of magic by extinguishing a candle that sent a curtain ablaze across the room in her and Madeleine’s room.
1876: Rye leaves for Hogwarts. He’s sorted into Hufflepuff.
1877: Due to the unrest in London over magical folk, Barton decides it would be best to move his family to the forming town of Hogsmeade. They take up some land on High Street to build their new bakery. In doing so, they build rooms above the bakery as well so as to save on the cost of a home. They decide to hire a housekeeper so the family can better focus on building their business
1878: It is finally Magdalena’s turn to go to school. She’s sorted into Hufflepuff. She proves to be a rather smart young woman but has a hard time with making friends, especially when some take to making fun of her for her “strange” name. Rye does what he can to help but being known as a jokester doesn’t make him taken much more seriously. She starts trying to go by Maggie as often as possible but there are still some bullies who continue to make fun of her name regardless.
1881: Though Rye’s grades are high enough to maintain a partial scholarship, he opts to leave after his OWLs so that he can stay home helping his parents with the bakery. Maddie, as Maggie has started calling Madeleine, joins Maggie at Hogwarts and is sorted into Hufflepuff. She becomes something of a silent, behind the scenes protector of Maddie. She steers boys with ill intent the opposite direction and makes sure others don’t pick on her little sister. She does her best to do so without Maddie being any wiser though.
1883: Maggie sits her OWLs and does remarkably well. She keeps a scholarship and decides to continue on with her schooling. Herb joins his siblings at Hogwarts though is sorted into Ravenclaw.
1885: With NEWTs behind her, Maggie begins working full time at the family bakery. She is the main one to work the front counter and then helps out doing whatever she can whenever she’s needed, spending any free time she may have experimenting with her own sweet treats..
1887: Maggie receives a letter from Maddie with news that their maternal grandparents had both passed. In the letter from their solicitor, the girls find out that the Kozlov fortune was to be left to the girls as they will eventually marry and no longer bear their father’s name. It rankles Maggie some but in a world where money means most everything, there’s little to be done or said about it other than to be grateful.
1888: Though it would be a bit peculiar, Maggie decides she wants to open up a shop of her own. With the time spent working on her own treats, she very much likes the idea of having her own little bakery featuring simply baked treats. She figures she could easily use the inheritance she received from her grandparents, and if need be, borrow from Maddie and pay her sister back once the shop is on its feet. However, when speaking with a solicitor on the matter, she finds out that neither she nor Maddie can actually access the funds willed to them until they have actually been married, no longer bearing the Backus name. It throws and obvious kink in her plans, one she has to think on how exactly to go about remedying.
Kind. She has a very kind soul and will help those in need if she can. Despite having a rougher time with others, she can often be seen smiling which only adds to her kind presence.
Untrusting. She has a hard time trusting those she doesn’t know for fear of them turning against her for whatever reason.
Blunt. She tells things like they are when the time calls for it. She doesn’t try to do so in a rude way but when something is wrong or right, she makes a point to stay true to those beliefs.
Protective. She has a protective streak about her and will gladly stand up for those who need it, namely her younger siblings.
Family Orientated. They’re a rather tight knit family and it tends to carry over into Maggie. She would do anything for her family and though they joke among one another and poke fun at times, it is all in good fun. She couldn’t imagine life without them.

Sample Roleplay Post: Maggie probably should have waited until the following day to make the trip to Irvingly to finally see Mr. Aymslow's shop in person. It was hard to do such a thing though. If she wasn't in the shop, it meant everyone else had to work that much harder. Dealing with customers was pretty hard, after all, when a person was up to their elbows in bread dough. So instead, she'd decided to brave the weather after the dinner rush had waned and chances of the shop getting busy were quite slim.
She'd made inquiries previously about the best way to get to Irvingly and had managed to figure out where to floo so that she could get to the shop. Once she'd quickly left the Casino, she took in a deep breath of the chilled night air. Snowflakes were beginning to fall but luckily just lightly so.
She meandered slowly toward the main square of the town, not in any rush as she wanted to take it all in. How she so longed to be able to simply live freely without extra restraints about her. Of course, as a woman, that made it hard to do but with the inheritance from her grandparents, Maggie had begun to see a knew light at the end of the tunnel. She had a chance to do something more with her life with, or without, a husband.
With a sigh, blue eyes fell to the bakery with it's sign clearly saying Sweet Delights. She smiled as she stood outside the front of it, gazing in through the window at the quaint little shop with it's Christmas tree clearly present. With another deep breath, she pushed the door open and entered, unsure of what exactly to expect of this encounter but she hoped the outcome would be good.
