THE BACKSTORY: The Greengrasses have money troubles, which means Ford having multiple unmarried sisters is a problem. He recently decided to buckle down and really DO something about it rather than just continuing to hope everything would work itself out, which means he's trying to get Grace employed and has decided someone is proposing to Clementine Greengrass this year, whether they like it or not.

THE PLOT:
Ford is ON THE HUNT for a brother-in-law and ready to spike your tea with a love potion in order to acquire one. He is not planning to let Clementine in on this plan and considers her buy-in on this whole marriage concept pretty optional. Clementine, lil feminist that she is, is probably not going to be super keen on romantic overtures from a besotted suitor. What happens next? Do you and Clem get engaged despite her protests? Does she fall for you? Do you get married and then stop getting drugged and wake up going woah, what the hell happened here? Does Clementine run away at the altar? Does the drugged drink get downed by the wrong party? ONLY TIME WILL TELL, but first we need a bachelor.

Ford's Ideal Candidate would be:

• Between 25-35.
  
• Middle class.
  
• Not publicly attached to anyone (courting, heavily flirting, people think they might be courting soon, etc).
  
• Not Objectionable*
  
• Ministry employee (easier access for him to spike your drink)
  
• Failing that, would frequent somewhere that Ford could reliably find them to 1) be aware they exist and 2) spike their drinks with ease
  
• Generally doesn't seem like a douche
  

He is willing to compromise on someone who doesn't meet all criteria but the more you have, the better.

*What does Ford find objectionable? If he knows or suspects you're gay, that's objectionable. Being Jude Wright is objectionable. Being French is objectionable. IDK what the criteria are, we're playing this by ear.

So that being said I perused the CD and came up with a list of people I THINK Ford might assess as Good Matches for Clementine - but I don't know everyone's characters/plots intimately so if they are not a good fit (or you're not interested in this kind of plot!) no worries! Also if I missed someone who is a great fit, lmk and I will reassess!

- Chill
- Smart (Noble's definition, which usually means "snarky")
- Will let Clem be a feminist
- someone he wants to spend time with, generally

He is not doing the drugging personally but has a lot of opinions on the drugging and will withhold or tamper with potions if he hates Ford's pick, and he is often at home so will meet this person sooner rather than later >>

Ford's general stance on this is that no one could possibly stop Clementine from doing what she wants with her life but he is not keen on anyone who might encourage her to be further radicalized :P but he also doesn't talk politics with people usually so if you're not Loudly Liberal he probably thinks you're fine!

I'm also down for Anthony to be involved. And while he isn't vocal about his political stances he'd honestly be 0p% fine with clem being a feminist. I'm not sure I'd count him as snarky but he's basically a human golden retriever and has a fair bit if family money behind him from the Delaneys shipping industry.

  

I'm having way too much fun tossing Dean in every direction to tie him down at present, so he's out, sorry!

I was planning to deactivate Harvey. I could be persuaded to keep him, but I really need something solid for him to justify it!

Not sure if Nick will pass both brothers' objectionable lists in practice as he can be mildly obnoxious, but if he does I'm game for him to be in the mix! With the usual caveat that I like to see ~where things go as opposed to particular endgoals <3

Steph how do you want to kick things off? I'm down to thread ~ford spiking drinks~ at any point but it might not be that interesting from your end at first, so if you'd rather jump into a society thread with Clementine Greengrass or something else we can do whatever!

Could we maybe say Philomen has a water flask or canteen or something Ford could swipe & spike? Since the library might not be a great place for full tea service xD if he's ~sufficiently smitten later than this is less necessary because Ford could invite him out for drinks and keep slipping him potions there, but for the initial dose it's a bit harder.
