Welcome to Charming, where swirling petticoats, the language of flowers, and old-fashioned duels are only the beginning of what is lying underneath…
After a magical attempt on her life in 1877, Queen Victoria launched a crusade against magic that, while tidied up by the Ministry of Magic, saw the Wizarding community exiled to Hogsmeade, previously little more than a crossroad near the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. In the years that have passed since, Hogsmeade has suffered plagues, fires, and Victorian hypocrisy but is still standing firm.
Thethe year is now 1894. It’s time to join us and immerse yourself in scandal and drama interlaced with magic both light and dark.
"Welcome to the second round of duels!" Ben chirped happily to both contestants with a smile. After establishing the rules, he wished both contestants luck and bade Mr. Beck to begin.
Max was a little star-struck to have this next duel done by a real Auror, but he had no time to dwell on this now. He was up first. And it was another girl, which made it hard to be a polite gentleman-boy. He solemnly slapped his hands to his sides in a bow, then took his stance. Then he cast a knockback jinx hoping to catch the girl by surprise.
The auror looked kind enough, though rather haunted, in Louisa's more poetic opinion. Either way, he seemed miles better than the wizard of the previous round, whose very fingertips had seemed unhappy to be there. This, coupled with her victory against Mr. Allen, put her rather more at ease as the redhead cast a shield charm.
Ben chuckled at the crispness of the boy’s bow, before standing back to watch the events unfold. Almost instantly the Hufflepuff was thrown backwards off her feet indicating Mr. Beck’s success. “This point goes to Mr. Beck,” he announced as Miss Weasley was set to rights. “Our next point will be started by Miss Weasley.”
He gave her a smile and indicated for her to begin when she was ready.
Max felt a little bad. Hufflepuffs were nice, at least the ones he talked to so far. Plus it wasn't as fun knocking over a girl as someone annoying like his dormmate. The boy got into stance again, and tried to fire off his quickest "Expelliarmus!" hoping he gets her before she gets him.
