Welcome to Charming, where swirling petticoats, the language of flowers, and old-fashioned duels are only the beginning of what is lying underneath…
After a magical attempt on her life in 1877, Queen Victoria launched a crusade against magic that, while tidied up by the Ministry of Magic, saw the Wizarding community exiled to Hogsmeade, previously little more than a crossroad near the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. In the years that have passed since, Hogsmeade has suffered plagues, fires, and Victorian hypocrisy but is still standing firm.
Thethe year is now 1894. It’s time to join us and immerse yourself in scandal and drama interlaced with magic both light and dark.
Dear Alice,
Alice, I'm sorry I was unable to meet with you yesterday like we planned. I'll make it up to you when I return. I'm not sure if you saw or heard what happened but I just want you to know I'm okay. Daffy, Dahlia, and I are at the Hogsmeade Hospital but they say we'll all be out by the end of the week. I'm trying to see if they'll let me out earlier for the quidditch game but I've a suspicion they won't let me out even if they say I'll only need another dose or two of skele-grow. I'd forgotten how bad this stuff tasted.
I can't walk yet so the healers are forcing me to stay in bed but I wish if this had to happen, I'd be in the school hospital wing instead. I'm quite bored here. It is just too quiet when everyone isn't visiting. Momma is fussing all over us and I know she worries but it is like I can't breathe. I miss everyone already.
You have absolutely nothing to apologize for! I'm only relieved you're okay. However, what do you need the skelegrow for? How severe were your breaks? The hospital is a much safer place to be than the castle for explosion type injuries. They'll release you only once ensuring that you'll be okay.
We can send letters all throughout the days if that'll help with your boredom. Have they informed you what caused the explosion yet? I was two streets over when it happened, but you could hear it all the way to London I'm sure. (Speaking of hearing, have they examined yours? Will you have any long lasting injuries?)

Alice,
I know the hospital here is better, but at least you guys are at school. Yeah I miss my sisters normally but dear mercy I'm tired of everyone fussing over me. Daffy was hurt worse than me. You guys wouldn't baby me.
Like I said, Daffy is worse off. I was closest but Daffy was upstairs when it happened, so she fell through the floor. I've got a lot of nicks from the window shattering, managed to break the top of my leg - they said the bone name but I don't remember what it was. The one above your knee? That's what they've got me on the nasty stuff for. And we are all coughing a lot. Something about the dust inhalation. Hearing wise... I've got a lot of ringing in my ears. I can still make most things out but it's hard. The healer said it'd probaboy get better with time but she can't guaranty it will go back to normal. Like you said, it was really loud.
They know what happened. The aurors think it was bombarda. Someone out on the street but they don't know who or why. They got away. They are still investigating it though so hopefully they find out. Momma and Poppa just had to fix the shop after the explosion in Ollivanders.
Your femur is the one above your knee and the hardest to break in your body. Merlin, the window broke it? How could that have happened?
You would have to endure the same amount of babying here, I fear. Between Sisse, Edison and I you would be well tended to. At least there's no embarrassment if it's your family as opposed to your friends and classmates. I remember being mortified that week I was stuck in the hospital wing during second year. You'll be back here soon enough.
I do hope Daffy will be alright, as well as all your orher family members. A shop can be reoaired time and time again. Lives cannot be.
Alice,
The window didn't. The shelf I crashed into after the explosion did. One of the display shelves we put the flowers on fell into me. They are pretty heady to hold up all the pots.
I don't know. It seems like it'd be different with you guys. Momma won't leave our sides she's so worried. Ama has stopped in a few times to help out at the hospital but i feel bad talking her from her duties. Shes brought the kids in last night though and they were so happy and energetic, it was nice to have some happiness in the room.
They said I'll possibly be discharged either Friday or Saturday so I might make it back for the game but at least class next week. I'm sorry to ask but would you mind helping me catch up when I return? I don't look forwards to missing a weeks worth of lessons and work.
