Building Collapse on the High Street
Florist Felled by Mystery Assailant
Midday on Saturday the 13th, during a visit from the students of Hogwarts, an explosion from an unknown spell rocked the High Street as the local florist shop partially collapsed from what appeared to be a deliberate attack upon The Florist Potts. Though there were no customers in the shop at the time, several of the Potts daughters were caught up in the rubble and debris and all are being treated for injuries at Hogsmeade Hospital, ranging from minor to moderate as a result of the attack. Miss Daffodil Potts was upstairs in the shop's office when the floor gave way beneath her. "It seems so very odd for a florist to be the subject of an attack of this nature, but I trust the authorities will handle the situation appropriately."
Fortunately both Jack Dorset, of the local constabulary and Head Auror, Faustus Prewett, were nearby at the time of the attack and managed to quickly contain the incident. Auror Prewett had this to say about cooperating with the constables, "Dorset's capabilities as constable and quick thinker should be applauded, and I'm glad he was there to assist during the initial recovery of those caught in the blast.” He continued to put the minds of the public at ease, "Rest assured the hunt is well underway for the culprit, but I'm glad that we could get the Potts family to safety."
Eyewitnesses at the scene describe a man in his mid to late thirties with dark hair fleeing the scene after blasting through the front of the flower shop. Dorset urges, "It's important that if you have information or think you recognize the perpetrator to report it immediately. Definitely do not try to apprehend this person yourself." If anyone on the High Street at the time of the attack has any information regarding the assailant, both the Hogsmeade Constabulary and the Aurors Office encourage anyone with leads to contact either office immediately. Mr. Basil Potts is offering a monetary reward for any information that leads to an arrest.
