6th February, 1891
Dear Sir,
I hope that this letter finds you in good health, and that you will forgive my writing without formal acquaintance. Please be assured that do so on business of the Hogsmeade Witches' Institute, rather than on personal matters, else I would not be so bold.
The Institute is in the process of organizing a dueling tournament for the ladies in our community to demonstrate their skills in a suitable fashion; while it is my ardent hope that it will go off without a hitch, I would be foolish not to expect some minor danger in an event of this nature. That is why I have written to you: in order to assure safety and propriety both, we feel as though having healers trained in spell damage would be very prudent.
If you would be at all amenable to donating your time to a worthy cause (proceeds from the event will be going to Hogwarts' scholarship fund), you would have the utmost appreciation of the Institute. If this is not something to which you are able to commit yourself at present, I of course understand, and thank you for taking the time to read this missive.
I look forward to your owl.
Mrs. R. Ross
