I hope this letter finds you well, and my sincerest congratulations on your imminent publication of "Mother Wolf." I'm Kieran Abernathy, a reporter for the Daily Prophet specializing in beasts, beings, and creatures. You may have heard that I was interviewing a few of your peer reviewers in order to cover the impending publication of "Mother Wolf."

I write in hopes of acquiring a copy of the book in advance of publication - in order to write accurate coverage of your work, I would like to read it myself. Thank you for considering this request.

Sincerely,
Kieran Abernathy (Crime & Politics - The Daily Prophet)

Dear sir,

I commend your interest in fair coverage of the work (I assume, anyway, that this is why you desire to read it yourself) and have instructed the publishing house to send a copy at once. Please let me know (care of publishing house once again) if you do not receive it.

Quite Sincerely,
M. Forfang

Thank you for indulging my request for an advanced copy of "Mother Wolf;" at the risk of oversimplifying things, I learned a lot, and I ultimately enjoyed it.

I write this time with a more complicated request, and so I will be direct: let me interview you.

I think that the public would benefit from hearing from you directly. I have a few questions that I would love to hear answered that I think people would respond well to, and if you begin to take interviews, you will control the public narrative to a large extent. I'm sure that you have some questions on this, so - I won't bore you with too many details now. But please consider it, and let me know what you think.

Sincerely,
Kieran Abernathy (Crime & Politics - The Daily Prophet)

Dear Mr. Abernathy,

My apologies for the delay in response; I have found myself unexpectedly busy this month.

While I appreciate the spirit of your request, I believe it would be unwise to arrange an interview at this juncture. I am afraid it would set a precedent I am not interested in setting. My work is, by its nature, already prone to being sensationalized and I should not wish to do anything which adds fuel to the fire, so to speak. I am a researcher, not a celebrity.

Quite Sincerely,
M. Forfang
