Appearance: Mari has chestnut brown hair that tends to fall in soft waves if she does not curl it. Most of the time, she wears her hair up, curled overnight, as is the fashion of the time. Her milk chocolate brown eyes are full of the joie de vie (joy of life). She is slightly shorter than average, standing at 4’11” without shoes, but she wears the same slightly heeled shoes her mother wears. She has a thin, slight frame and wears mostly soft colors. Keeping her wand up the sleeve of her right arm is easiest for her to access, the wand dropping out of her sleeve and into her hand at a moments notice should she need it.
History: Marielle’s father Thomas, a well-respected British journalist, was introduced to Aveline Leblanc, a prominent French seamstress, at an international wizarding event in Paris. The two began a slow, amorous courtship that ended six months later in Thomas asking Aveline’s father’s permission to wed his daughter.
The two were wed a two months later and moved to a small estate outside of Rennes, France where they lived for eleven years. Marielle’s older brother André was born a year after their wedding and four years later, Mari joined the small family. She was a happy, energetic, smiling baby. Four years after she was born, her brother Luc was added to the family.
Two years after Luc was born, when Mari was six (and a half, she insisted), Thomas’s father passed away and as the eldest son in the family and the heir to the Prince fortune and estate, he and his family returned to England, where they resided in the Prince manor on the outskirts of Farnham, Surrey. After having lived in France for six (and a half) years of her life, Mari spoke both English and French fluently, often mixing the two languages together when excited. As a young child, she frequently ended her sentences with “Oui, oui, yes. Oui” in her excitement, a term her parents found most endearing.
As soon as she was able, her governess imparted the importance of etiquette on young Mari. She was to portray herself honorably and nobly at all times, something the young Marielle had no trouble with. Her mother was the most elegant woman she knew and was someone Mari looked up to and attempted to emulate as a child. Mari also began to learn piano as a child and was proficient by the age of eleven. Her mother began to teach her how to sew and embroider her own dresses when she was eight.
In 1877 when magical society was forced out of the muggle world, Mari’s family moved to North Bartonburg, selling their family home when they moved. A few years later, when Mari turned eleven, she received her letter for Hogwarts, the same as her father. She went to Hogwarts and was sorted into Ravenclaw, something that surprised her as she had assumed she’d be Hufflepuff like her father and older brother. However, she was proud of her Ravenclaw placement and made sure to do her family proud.
At school, the only two classes she struggled with were potions and flying. Mari decided after her first year to receive help with potions because without it, she was terrible, absolutely dreadful, should never touch a cauldron bad at potions. After meeting a friend in her house who excelled at Potions, her grade improved drastically. With flying, it took four broken bones but she eventually managed to stay on a broom long enough to pass the first year class. Despite these two challenges, Mari had no difficulty with her other classes, her favorites being Charms, Herbology, and Arithmancy.
A year and a half following her graduation and the Hogwarts Coming Out ball, she was introduced to a lovely man named Fabien, a smart, intelligent, handsome man who had success as a Potioneer for a few years. Their courtship lasted four months and Fabien recently asked Thomas for Mari’s hand in marriage, which was given freely, Fabien had asked Mari, to which she accepted eagerly. She loved him and he was kind to her; he seemed to enjoy listening to her stories and her piano. Soon enough the two would be wed and living in a home all their own.

Sample Roleplay Post: Aleks had just finished another set of lines when he heard the door open and whipped around, hoping it wasn't his parents finally figuring out where he hid during parties and during any part of break that wasn't a required family meal. Instead, he found Eli entering the sanctuary he'd discovered. And he resigned himself to searching for a new room tomorrow.
"Yes, Elisei. This is where I've been since mother and father dismissed me," Aleks replied, also in Russian. He'd already been dismissed by their parents for being too "depressing" for their party, so he'd gone and found himself something to do. Which, as usual, had included practicing to earn their approval. And as usual, it was not getting anywhere. Slowly uncurling his fingers from around the pencil and setting it on the desk, stretching out the muscles in his hand slowly.
