Did You Know?
Braces, or suspenders, were almost universally worn due to the high cut of men's trousers. Belts did not become common until the 1920s. — MJ
Had it really come to this? Passing Charles Macmillan back and forth like an upright booby prize?

ACAB | Any Rep | Festival

What: St. Patrick’s Fortune Day Festival
Who: Open to anyone who has reason to be at Hogsmeade and wants to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day; hosted by some magical vendors of Hogsmeade
Cost: Walking through the festival is free, although participation in some activities may be a small fee; food and beverages available for purchase
Where: Hogsmeade
Why: To celebrate St. Patrick’s Day
When: March 17, 1895

Some vendors of Hogsmeade have come together to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. There are food and drinks available for purchase. Main attractions include (but not limited to):
  • Florist Potts is hosting a Lucky Clover Booth; wizards and witches can try their hand at growing a four-leaf clover instantly with a special charm for a small fee. Each contestant receives a small pot of soil, a handful of clover seeds, and a wand movement guide – those who succeed receive a token for a free gift at Honeyduke’s. Grow something… unusual? Well, you might walk away with a cursed shamrock that sings loudly for 24 hours.

  • Silverwand Cauldrons is hosting an (Un)lucky Draw; curious festival-goers can test their mettle by reaching into a charmed cauldron for a small fee. There are two prizes: a small charmed item or something that will explode in your hand and cause a harmless (but still hilarious) jinx.

  • Scrivenshaft’s Quill Shop is hosting The Quill of Fortune; a bucket of enchanted quills is available for purchase; each one has been enchanted to do something different, such as (but certainly not limited to) writing in gold ink, giving perfect penmanship (even if the writer has chicken scratch writing), floating mid-air and refusing to be held properly and sneezing out ink blots at random intervals.

  • Whizzhard Books is hosting a Storytelling Session; a ghostly bard tells the legend of some famous witches/wizards and the magical creatures of Ireland, with illusions animating the story. This is mainly aimed at children.

  • London Potioneers Guild is hosting a raffle; one lucky witch or wizard will win a single vial of Felix Felicis. There is a one ticket per person limit, although there is a chance to earn a second raffle ticket. The Guild has set up several bubbling cauldrons, each filled with a different mystery potion, although those brave enough to try won’t know what they’re getting until they drink a small vial. If fortune favors you, nothing will happen and you will be given a second ticket. If fortune doesn’t favor you, you will hiccup tiny golden bubbles and your hair will turn bright green for an hour.

The winner will be owled the vial the next day.
