No Magic in Irvingly
Ministry announces loss of magic and ignorance
Yesterday the Ministry of Magic announced that magic in Irvingly has ceased to work as a result of the mysterious, and increasingly sinister, fog that has been encroaching on the village since the 4th. Residents of Swallowbury were issued with an official memo by the Department of Magical Accidents and Catastrophes to alert them to the fact the Floo network was down, apparition is impossible and the train is suspended for anything other than an emergency, effective trapping the residents in the village.
The Ministry has assured residents that it is hard at work attempting to reverse the effects but at the time of publication they had yet to make any breakthroughs, leaving Irvingly all but cut-off and potentially vulnerable. Even exiting the village by way of broomstick has been prohibited and as it stands the ONLY way of escaping the fog is to walk to the north of the village to areas that are yet to be covered by the fog, however with its scope growing daily who knows how long that will be a viable option for.
Irvingly resident and nurse at the still active Irvingly Infirmary Miss Temperance Fairchild was quoted as saying “This has been coming to the residents of this village for years” which leaves one to wonder – if the fog is not as innocent as it originally seemed, then who, or what, has brought it to the village?
