"Fine, yes, okay? You can come," Greta resisted the urge to groan aloud and forced herself - again - to calm down and take a deep breath whilst she told herself to think pleasant, peaceful thoughts. It wasn't as if Yuri was the only one to have invited himself on their expedition. Millie was just too nice. She really needed to learn how to say no to others.
And Yuri could be useful.
He had... talents? Greta wasn't quite sure what they were but he must have as she'd noticed that most of the talentless students had sort of disappeared after the first year unless they came from wealthier families... though perhaps he was secretly wealthy. Maybe he was secretly very good at sneaking?
She reached for the buttober puss and screwed up her nose as she added it to her potion. It looked ghastly - though she really shouldn't expect anything from an ingredient that has the word puss in its name.
A cruel thought popped into her head - and she pushed it away secretly astonished with it and quite glad nobody had the power to read minds. It had only appeared for a second - the thought of using the dangerous material in someway to prevent Yuri from coming along - but it had been there all the same. It wouldn't have done her any good anyway because the whole expedition was turning into a group project anyways. She needed to embrace that fact (and not focus on how it would look if it all went wrong and they blamed her) after all there was a sort of safety in numbers and booksmarts could only get one so far.
Thanks go to the marvelous MJ for her sensational set.
