Welcome to Charming, where swirling petticoats, the language of flowers, and old-fashioned duels are only the beginning of what is lying underneath…
After a magical attempt on her life in 1877, Queen Victoria launched a crusade against magic that, while tidied up by the Ministry of Magic, saw the Wizarding community exiled to Hogsmeade, previously little more than a crossroad near the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. In the years that have passed since, Hogsmeade has suffered plagues, fires, and Victorian hypocrisy but is still standing firm.
Thethe year is now 1894. It’s time to join us and immerse yourself in scandal and drama interlaced with magic both light and dark.
A successful round of duels complete! Onto the next round. "Welcome to our next round of duels!" Ben announced, clasping his hands behind his back. "We'll begin with Miss Bell. When you're ready!"
Maddy beamed across the aisle at her friend, a fiendish glint in her eye. Sisse was a smart girl, and a skillful witch—the Gryffindor knew she would have her hands full here, but that did not mean she couldn't have fun, too!
She set out to give the other girl bunny ears—something silly, but not something that would embarrass Sisse overmuch.
Maddy caught her eye and Sisse smiled back, glad to know that Maddy had won her last round. For her part Sisse was feeling more confident and relaxed this time.
She cast a spell at Maddy's feet to cause the other girl to start tap dancing and hopefully throw her roommate's aim off.
Creative spells the both of them! However Miss Thompsett's spell won out in the end and Benedict congratulated her. "Miss Thompsett, please proceed in starting our next pass!" Ben announced gleefully.
Sisse smiled at the praise, but not wanting to seem as if she were a sore winner she tried to keep it to a small polite smile.
As the next pass started Sisse decided to distract Maddie and hopefully prevent her from saying a spell at all (thankfully they'd only studied a limited amount of nonverbal spells so far) by casting aiming jinx, "Cantis!"
