Did You Know?
Queen Victoria was known for putting jackets and dresses on her pups, causing clothing for dogs to become so popular that fashion houses for just dog clothes started popping up all over Paris. — Fox
It would be easy to assume that Evangeline came to the Lady Morgana only to pick fights. That wasn't true at all. They also had very good biscuits.

Appearance
Daniel is taller than the average standing at an even six feet tall. He has pale skin and dark hair, often combed neatly back. Sometimes he grows a beard but often prefers clean shaven. He has icy blue eyes and an almost permanent scowl. He wears wizards robes, but is not above wearing muggle suits if he needs to walk the streets on London (not that that’s a frequent event). Daniel was born left handed, but his governess untrained that terrible habit and now he can use both hands but maintains that he is right handed.
History
Childhood

1854: Daniel is born the third son of the Selwyn family. The quieter son it is often easy to forget about him.
1855-1859: Daniel goes from a quiet baby to a quieter boy. He is possessive of toys and even people. He can be surely and quietly angry when someone leaves the nursery. While he is not prone to screaming or anger, he often relates in smaller ways.
1860: Daniel demonstrates his first act of magic when “Poseidon” and “Zeus” leave him behind in the nursery to go swimming in the nearby river. Daniel glares angrily at them and the next thing they now they are stuck to the wooden floor of the nursery.
1861: “Zeus” goes to Hogwarts. Hades is surely about his brother’s abandonment but this is tempered by the fact that all “Zeus”’s letters home distract their parents from him (not that he ever got much attention). They are full of how wonderful “Zeus” is, which even at six years old grates on Daniel’s nerves. To add to this Tanwen is born.
1862-1864: Daniel is handed from the nanny’s care to the governess’s care. He often is trying to get back at “Poseidon” for some perceived slight. He’s not remarkably good at his studies and is overshadowed until “Poseidon” also heads to Hogwarts.
1865: Daniel gets his Hogwarts letter in July after much teasing from his brothers that it will never show up.

Hogwarts

1865-66: Daniel arrives at Hogwarts and is sorted into Slytherin. He is standoffish to his yearmates and often keeps to himself, unlike his older brothers. It doesn’t take long for people to start thinking the youngest Selwyn boy is a bit odd. His parents have another daughter, “Athena” - or at least that’s what they want everyone to think. In reality they are covering up for “Zeus”’s teenage misadventures. A trend that will continue for the rest of his parents’ lives.
1866-1867: Second year is unremarkable, marked only by the awkward experience of Daniel’s nose growing faster than the rest of his face - yay puberty.
1867-1868: Third year is a bit more interesting with the addition of courses Daniel actually would like to take: Care of Magical Creatures & Ghoul Studies.
1868-1869: The novelty of elective courses wears off in fourth year when Daniel realizes just how heavy his course load is.
1869-1870: Someone decides that Daniel would be a good prefect. Daniel’s not sure why, but the duties are more a nuisance then his school work. OWLs are finally here and Daniel is completely acceptable in them. A’s across the board.
1870-1871: Knowing that he will work for his father after school Daniel selects a few classes to continue with that he believes will be interesting: Astronomy, Potions, Charms, Ghoul Studies, and History of Magic. His father arranges for an internship at the family newspaper, Wizards Daily, for over the summer. Hades is actually mildly interested in the running of the paper.
1871-1872: Finally, his seventh year at Hogwarts arrives. Somehow Daniel believes this will somehow capture his parents attention, but his NEWT scores do nothing to really leave a lasting impression on anyone.

Adulthood

1872: After graduation Daniel is sent to work for the Daily Wizard as an editor. He enjoys the work as it often keeps him away from other people. When “Zeus” fathers a daughter their parents try to encourage him to leave any thoughts of caring for the child. By the time Daniel arrives home he finds that “Aphrodite” has been brought into the family to be raised in the Selwyn household - it’s a very tense summer.
1874: When “Zeus” fathers a set of twins, Daniel’s mother proposes the idea of sending them abroad for a few years. “Zeus” dislikes the plan but agrees to it when she mullifies him by saying they can bring them back under the guise of orphaned cousins in a few months. Daniel’s father, however, decides that enough is enough and arranges a marriage for “Zeus” hoping this will sate his lust. “Hera” marries into the family and seems to instantly dislike everyone. Daniel responds by taking over the family’s townhouse in London as his own.
1875: Gone is the ignorant sullen boy, Daniel pays close attention to what is going on with his family, suspecting something is awry in “Zeus” marriage. He does nothing about his suspicions but keeps an eye on situation if only to quietly torment his perfect older brother. Daniel now runs the paper, and has been given duties at his father’s publishing company: Cerberus Publishing. 1877: Chaos ensues for the magical world. Daniel stays put in London and continues to make sure that neither the paper nor the publishing company are discovered. The rest of the family stays put at the family manner in Wales. 1880: Much to everyone’s surprise Rhea dies, although no one is entirely sure how. 1882: Ephraim dies from a heart attack. His will divides his companies up among his sons with some stipulations. “Zeus” is to inherit the family lands and income from the lands, but only if he retains his job in the Ministry. “Posiedon” is to take over the family’s large shipping enterprise. Daniel is to have the newspaper and publishing companies as well as the London house. 1883: At a ball in London “Persephone’ catches Daniel’s eye. She is a gentle creature and Hades falls almost instantly in love with her. He begins to be active in the social sphere, attending any event he thinks she might attend. 1884: Daniel finally asks “Persephone” to court him. Six months later he asks her to marry him. 1885: Daniel marries “Persephone”. Convinced that once they return from their honeymoon on the continent “Persephone” will come to her senses and leave him he forces her to make an unbreakable vow that says she will always stay with him. Or rather, that she will never leave him - for good, the vow gives her six months of freedom. Shortly after their return to London Daniel and “Demeter”, “Persephone”’s mother, have a falling out. He banishes her from his home. 1886: The bonds of the vow are tested when “Demeter” feigns an illness and “Persephone” rushes home to take care of her. This is the beginning of a terrible trend, almost every six months that “Persephone” is home she falls ill again. 1890: Daniel has learned the importance of facts by this point in his life and he has begun to try and uncover his siblings secrets. With the unbreakable bond constantly tested Daniel still finds it hard to believe that his wife loves him. He spends more and more time trying to expand the companies left to him and to digging into his brothers’ secrets instead of debating his wife’s actual relationship with him or how he might belong, such thoughts, after all, are for weaker men then him.
Personality
Solitary| Covetous | Brooding | Cunning

Daniel is a very solitary creature person. He likes to be left alone in his domain hardly bothered by anyone else. Despite this he craves company, but only on his terms. Often led to disliking individuals if they are someone who seeks attention out. He is also very jealous of everything and everyone. Daniel has very little trust for anyone, indeed, even his wife who he loves. Or at least as much as he can love anyone. Daniel is prone to dark thoughts and self loathing. He’d never admit that he desires to please anyone even himself, but he desires inclusion and acceptance from others. Indeed Daniel is made up of an uncomfortable amount of contradictions.
