March 22, 1888 — Hogwarts Fields
It was nearing that time of the school year again: the time where many students just began to cruise by. Frida was no exception, though it was apparent that she was trying harder in some classes than others. Conferring with Seneca regarding their shared classes — especially the more difficult ones like Ancient Runes and Defence Against the Dark Arts — was the most obvious solution to her problem, despite the 'bother' she apparently was.

Glued to her cousin's side, Frida had began rambling about the odd arrangement of runes in this week's Ancient Runes homework, when the ground beneath them began to grumble. Frida immediately dropped the topic of conversation, visibly shaken, and glanced down. Before she could even grasp was was happening, however, the ground gave way.

Before she could even find the time to let out any noise, Frida — and now her cousin, who she was staring at with wide eyes and a gaping mouth — sat at the bottom of a ten foot hole.

"What — What is this?" she gasped, referring to what she initially assumed to be a trap.

Seneca had been listening to Frida complain about their ancient runes homework as if on autopilot. Sometimes, she was in a good mood, and she'd explain to Frida whatever she was struggling with. That day wasn't one of those, so Frida had to make do with Seneca nodding her head every now and then and muttering something along the lines of 'I'm not sure' whenever Frida asked about some particular rune.

Then, out of the blue, the ground began to shake and the two Lestranges dropped down a hole.

"I bet it's the Earth Magic's students' fault," Seneca replied in an obviously distressed tone when she regained her composure.

Frida, so distressed by Seneca's distress (if her cousin wasn't calm, there obviously was a good reason for herself not to be!) that a fit of shallow, quick breaths began. She felt around in her robe pocket, her heart almost beating from her chest when she didn't feel something very important. "Seneca, my wand! It's gone missing!" she cried, her eyes quickly searching the dark ground beneath them (which did very little, because her wand was dark in color).

Frida would always use her wand in the most crucial moments. Thankfully, Seneca kept hers in a specifically designed pocket in her robes. She was about to Accio Frida's wand when she felt dirt dropping on her head.

It was as though an invisible shovel was trying to bury them alive!

#5
Merlin, were they about to be buried alive? She tried to look up, only to have dirt land on her face and in her eyes.

"What are we supposed to do?" she asked, crouching down uncomfortably to sift through the dirt for her wand. She couldn't lose it — how else would she do her magic? She still had more to learn before their examinations!

Suddenly, she found a rope (???) sticking in the dirt. It was not her wand. "Hey, what's th—" With a single tug, more dirt fell on top of them, burying Frida from the waist down. "It's - It's a trap, Seneca! We're trapped!" she cried.

The hell?!

This was the most bizarre trap in the history of Hogwarts. There was no way Peeves could have concocted it, or a Hogwarts student, without getting expelled first. Perhaps they'd accidentally sat above some exercise for the NEWT DADA students?

Seneca winced, a reaction caused by both Frida's squeals and the further dirt that had dropped on them. She raised her wand and cast: "Finite incantatem!" And the dirt stopped dropping.

#7
Flora, waist-deep in dirt, let out out a deep sigh of relief once the dirt stopped dropping — at least until she realized her wand was still missing. "This is not a very good day, Seneca," she huffed, trying to move through the (luckily not-so-thick) dirt that had fallen on them. "We'll have to report this or something — and maybe get my wand."

Now, the question was: how would they manage to get out of here?

This would have been so much easier without Frida complaining. Could this girl do anything but complain? Whine, cry and complain.

"Well, I don't know any spells to make the ground lift up!" Seneca said in a tone all annoyance. "Nor can I conjure a ladder for us to climb out of here. And I can't even concentrate to come up with some spell I do know because of your whining!"

#9
Frida's brows furrowed, and, in the midst of her discomfort and stress, did something completely uncharacteristic of herself: she yelled back. "Well you haven't lost your wand! What if I just did this" And she reached over and attempted to snatch her cousin's wand right from her grasp.

Seneca's reflected quickly and pulled her arm backward so Frida wouldn't get the wand. Her surprise at Frida's odd behavior was such that her hair changed colours for a moment. "What if I broke both your arms?" Seneca provoked though she did no move towards realizing the suggestion.

Frida's face managed to turn even redder, and now she looked like an awful tomato. Her anxiety was in full-force, and with the legitimate fear she was feeling re: lost wand, it only manifested in impulse anger. "I'd send Meta to set you on fire, then! You're not good enough at transfiguration to conjure water to put it out!"

The threat of Meta would have amused Seneca, hadn't she been pretty pissed already. "I'm good enough to do this," she said and then cast some spell to make the dirt around Frida turn into millions of ants -- then cast another to make them start crawling on her.

Oh Merlin. Seneca had gone mad (not that she hadn't, but Seneca had actually gotten violent). There were ants, everywhere, and all Frida could do was let out screams for a solid five or six seconds after the ants appeared. Once she came to her senses — and realized that the ants could potentially bite her — the Hufflepuff scrambled towards her cousin.

"I can't believe you would actually do that! You're evil," she cried.

"You started acting as though you'd escaped from a mental institution!" Seneca retorted, then she cast a spell to make the ants disappear. She didn't want for any potential reinforcements to see Frida like that and have her cousin tattletale on her.

#15
The moment the ants were gone, Frida made sure to back up as far away from Seneca as possible. Her cousin wouldn't have to worry about her clinging to her anymore — she was now 100% distrustful of the Slytherin.

"I just want my wand back. Since you're so good at magic, get out and leave me to find it," she directed, her tone hurt. Now that the ants and dirt were gone, she could sift through the ground until she found it.

"You'll get your stupid wand, Merlin!" Seneca exclaimed. "It wouldn't be lost in the first place if you took better care of it!" Frida was so silly, no wonder she'd lost her wand. It was probably in one of her pockets all this time!

There was a more pressing matter, though and that was them leaving that hole. Then they could maybe find a professor and tell them about Frida's stupid wand. Or she could write Uncle Priam so he could buy her a new one. It wasn't as though your days as a wizard were over once you lost your wand -- assuming you weren't poor, that is.

Seneca got an idea as to how they could escape -- she cast some magic on the dirt and it began to move towards the walls of the hole, until it'd formed a staircase. She then moved to step on them. The ground was fickle underneath her, but it'd probably hold if they were quick enough. "Quick, let's get out of here and then we can find your stupid wand." She then began to run up the 'stairs'.
