The child groaned, spat out some dirt, and rolled over. She stared at Rose confused and sore, "'M I dead?" She'd never been hit with a spell before, of course.

Billie shrank away from the offered hand and slowly climbed to her feet. Her face was dirtier than usual thanks to the faceplant.

After her wits returned, Billie anxiously pat at herself, trying to make sure she still possessed all her limbs. She caught sight of Lou and scowled, not realizing he had been aiming for a different niffler, and she had simply gotten in the way.  "Where is it?"

Rolling her eyes again Lena ignored her brother, who was still running around like a lunatic over a creature Lena considered about as dangerous as an excitable ferret, and instead made a beeline for the attractive blonde hovering over the child. Just to be helpful of course...

"Over there," she nodded towards the niffler that had been the man's presumed target. “And don't worry, if he sends another wild stunner I can bounce it back at him." And it would serve him right: fancy sending a stunner when there was a child running around without the means to defend themselves.

Vivienne watched as the gentleman that had been helping her button stopped and doubled back to see to the child. She kept going forward and after the little rascal that had scampered off with the button. "You come back here," she sang out to the creature, barely getting a glance from over its shoulder.

Pausing, she glanced down at the buttons of her sleeves and realized that the one torn free had loosened its pair. Making quick work of it, she freed the button and then knelt down and waved it from its thread. "Lookie here," she called to it.

Eugene was, true to style, running around like a chicken with its head cut off. With one niffler in hand, Eugene tossed it into a makeshift cage he'd been given as he was leaving the office. The pretty young blonde seemed to be luring the other black one he'd been chasing over.

Lena motioned to the little auburn one he'd seen and Eugene knew there was one more loitering about.  It was then he heard loud crash which prompted him to turn and stare at the scene before him. Having some assistance was not necessary but helpful in this instance.

The little black niffler seemed to be rather enticed by the button Vivienne was offering. Its twitchy little nose was directed her way and sniffling as it slowly started to scampering toward her. All she could really do was grin as a result. Maybe she should have paid more attention to magical creatures. This one seemed rather adorable. A bit of a nuisance, surely, but adorable nonetheless.

Just as the little creature got close enough and reached out for the button, Vivienne was quick to snatch it up in her hands. No sooner had she, a loud crash was heard.

Billie shook herself out, like a dog trying to rid itself of water, as if trying to forget being hit by the stunner altogether. She followed the direction of Marlena's nod and smiled slightly in satisfaction. At least, her chase hadn't been for nothing. "Wha's a stunner?" The waif eyed Lou once more, and then shot the woman an appreciative look that she would deflect anything. "Thanks."

The child appeared as if she were about to ask another question, but the crash had her jumping where she stood. Quickly, she whirled about and leveled a wide-eyed stare on the source.

"How many are there?" Rose snapped. The crash originated from a penny dreadful cart tipping over, sending little booklets flying into the street. A niffler was obviously the culprit, unless there was some other ludicrous disaster occurring today, which Rose did not think entirely likely.

Rose was rather familiar with magical creatures, or at least the ones that sometimes kicked around Hogwarts school. Tentatively, she reached into her purse to pull out her pocketwatch, holding the shiny object like a talisman. Hopefully one of the damned creatures would be attracted to it so that this was done with.

"Three left!" Eugene hollered when somebody asked how many there were. "Got one," He raised the case in his hand. "Two's there," Oh! The young blonde had caught him. Excellent.

Unfortunately its sibling had just caused a huge display of cauldrons outside the apothecary to come crashing down. Some rolling away, others upended and a lone niffler holding onto a tiny silver cauldron, trying to nick off with it. Eugene flicked his wand its way, a summoning charm- and into the cage it went!

"One more left, it's a greyish color!" He turned to collect the third from the blonde.

GUYS WRAP IT UP BY FRIDAY YEAH?

Rhoda, who had been fairly useless (thanks, Bree) up into this point, standing still with her hands on her hips while the other mostly-random individuals scurried after the runaway nifflers, finally caught sight of one.

"It's over there - right there!" she said, pointing towards a (now-abandoned) merchant's stand that seemed to have some sort of (fake?) sequined scarves on display. The little grey niffler seemed to be minding its own business, and she could only hoped that one of the less clunky individuals might have the grace to snatch it.

"Sneak right up behind it. Move slowly, now," she said.

Was this really how Eugene spent his days?

Gladder than ever that she had opted for the department she had Marlene flicked her wand causally at the last niffler, lifting it through the air in a smooth arc that travelled over most of their heads. She spared a moment to smile ruefully at the girl who had been sneaking up behind it but through her method far more pragmatic.

“Is that it?” She asked as she kept the creature at just the right level for her brother to bundle away.

Staring in shock at the loud crash, Vivienne found the little creature actually snuggling up close into her arms. It had its buttons, after all, so what else could it really want or need? Especially with all the loud commotion going on all around them.

She smiled up at the gentleman as he came toward her to collect the little bugger. "They're really quite cute, aren't they?" she asked as she handed it off to him. They didn't seem to be the best option as a pet, however, so she'd gladly hand it over. Everything taken care of, she left.

Ah yes, three down. "Cute and obnoxious." Eugene agreed as he gently placed him in the cage with his siblings. The little demons weren't dangerous, just rather annoying. And a menace when left unchecked in public.

"Give it here." He sighed as he gently plucked the last one from the air where his sister had it levitating. It didn't look all that happy and Eugene cradled it for a moment before tucking it in with the rest. "Well that was fun, thanks for your help everybody," He grinned at them cheerfully. "I'll make sure the little critters find good homes."
