One of my 2025 goals was to become a better TBR reader! I know some people prefer mood reading, but I think the having a list to select my next read from helps me make sure I'm actually tackling the books I'm excited for! Otherwise I tend to spiral down the Kindle Unlimited wormhole and forget the books I planned on reading! (Not sure why my brain does this—I strongly suspect my ADHD is involved lmao).
That being said, I've been compiling monthly TBR lists! I usually select 12-14 books, end up reading ~8 of them plus the random books I do end up picking up, and then I move onto the next month!
Even if your process is totally different, I'd love to see the books you hope to read this year!!
Here's some of mine:
The author of one of the most popular Dramione fanfics (Draco Malfoy and the Moritfying Ordeal of Being In Love) is making her traditionally published debut this year! This one isn't a reworking of her fanfic—it's an original piece with a completely different plot, but keeps the Dramione dynamic! She has such good pacing, banter, and is a master a tension, so I'm desperate to start this one!
Kennedy Ryan is a MUST read for fans of contemporary romance! Hers toe the line between women's fiction and romance, with the main character's struggles always taking priority over the actual romance. Her writing is stunning and the other books in this series were among my favorites of 2024! This is the third book in the series, so I recommend reading Before I Let Go and This Could Be Us first!
I have read the description of this one multiple times and always forget what it's about, but Gabby Gamez wrote one of my 2023 favorites, The Next Best Fling! What I do know: (1) it's a sapphic romance ft. bisexual & asexual representation, (2) it's a stunning cover, and (3) I am going to devour it.
