Millie Potts
13 | MCHB | THIRD YEAR RAVENCLAW | REP 9

Often seen hiding behind the pages of a novel, or lingering in an idle moment, Mildred Potts might be that unassuming third year you've passed a hundred times in the halls of Hogwarts. She's quiet but not reserved, ready to speak when given the opportunity, even if she stumbles over her worlds a little. Millie, as she commonly goes by, has a powerful drive and big ideas pushing her forward and is intent on making her time at Hogwarts (at least until her fifth year) count.

• Friends? Do you know Millie, or would like to? Fellow Ravenclaws and Third Years are strongly invited, though there's no reason why Millie couldn't make friends in the library or resting under one of the trees she frequents on the grounds.
  
  
• Rivals? You're not enemies, really, are you? Maybe you do have it out for Millie, or she's just an easy target. Perhaps she caught you doing something against school rules and you know she's the one who turned you in. Or maybe she got a better grade than you in a Transfiguration or Potions assignment and this cannot stand!
  
  
• Family? Millie is the youngest of the named Potts family, and far less notable than her shop-owning cousins. Which means she's ripe for taking under your older, wiser wing or just being an ear for the baby of the cousins.
  
  
• More connections? Perhaps you and she were fellow rambunctious children in the streets of North Bartonburg, and threw dirt clods together (or at each other). Millie frequented the trees at Glen Grove and other nearby foliage, there's a chance you knew her from an encounter there. Or you could simply be a mere acquaintance of Millie's at Hogwarts, either, the social circle at Hogwarts is as large as the grounds.

I have a few people for you:

Zin here is Millie's cousin. I think she'd like Millie, although there's quite a bit if an age gap between them. She would love to see Millie drop by the shop during Hogsmeade weekends, or even during holiday breaks~
Chuntao Chang is my first year Ravvie and is working to make sure he's the smartest sibling to walk the halls of Hogwarts. (He adores his siblings, so it's half-joking, but you know, have to have some kind of goals)
Gus Lissington is the DADA professor and quite friendly.

I absolutely intend to write with all of Millie's cousins! I took a glimpse at Zinnia's profile, I feel like Millie and Zin might enjoy each other's quiet company a lot of the time; Zin painting and Millie reading. Could happen on a Hogsmeade visit, Millie shows up after spending time at one of the pubs on High Street, looking for relief? If that doesn't appeal, we could PM or Discord DM to discuss other ways.

Chuntao sounds like he could even make Millie's third year knowledge seem inadequate. The grounds, Great Hall and common room sound like potential avenues for them to interact, and if he's out to prove himself, he might have something to say about Millie tucking novels inside her textbooks while she's supposed to be studying. That's one idea.

I am meaning to join the DADA class thread, so I suspect Millie will have an encounter with Gus one way or another. If not in the classroom, I'd like to have an interaction with Gus before the term ends, I have a thought of Millie pondering questions about dark wizards in general and she would probably consider Professor Lissington her closest expert to ask.

Hey there! I can offer you Max here, if she’d like to deal with a surly first year kid prone to talk-back and getting in trouble. He’s somehow good friends with Tao Chang and has a good heart, honest, but maybe can be a bit of a bully cos he has a chip on his shoulder!

Alt can offer Ida Chang, she graduated last year from Ravenclaw/star pupil type. She’s at Flint Institute now. I’m sure their paths may have crossed if Millie ever wants to reconnect or chat with an older student.

Yes<3 I love all of this. She'd be very happy to hide Millie away until she had to head back to the castle for curfew. Favorite cousin, right there.

Oh, I like this idea! I'm deciding though, if I'm sending Tao into vacation land (aka deactivating him for a bit), so I think I want to hold off on any threads for him right.

And yes to this. Gus will talk her ear off about anything and everything. He was a curse breaker before he was a professor, so he's very verse in dark objects/people lol.

I definitely think a thread with Millie and Zinnia is in order. There was a Hogsmeade weekend on the 12th, we could set one then. If you want to start it, I would be thrilled!

And when I get through adding Millie to the rest of the classroom threads, I will look at one with Gus for her burning question. It can always be a second term thing, too.

Sisse Thompsett who is her cousin Calla's friend. Sisse would befriend her without a second thought if only because it's in her nature. But she'll also be friendly because of Calla. Annd she is often in the library or under a tree studying. We also discussed that Sisse might help hem some hand me gowns down to Millie, which I'll add to that that Sisse has the vague notion of either getting married or becoming a modieste after she graduates. Sisse is also the president of the Charms club and is in the history club. She has previously been in the book club - I think.

Katherine Arundell "Kitty" is the daughter of an earl and is a muggleborn first year. She is way out of her depth here at Hogwarts but pretty open talking to everyone. I definitely think we can find a way to put the two of them together.

@"Dahlia Potts" and of course, I have her next oldest cousin after Calla. Dahlia would definitely take Millie under her wing. She's an avid letter writer, very cheerful, and is probably the family gossip. She also tends to jump to conclusions and gets herself into some hilariously misunderstood situations. She loves baking and is really into being a debutante.

Sissie and Millie in book club together might give them something to talk about over dress alterations, too. I like this idea a lot.

I could see letter writing with Dahlia, is she in Hogsmeade often as well? Those would be solid avenues, I would think Millie would spend time with her cousins (maybe moreso than with her siblings).

I am quite behind on greeting all the AMAZING new Ravvies but HELLO BELATEDLY! I play Basil, your Head of House and I demand threads lol.

In terms of Max and Tao, I also have Callum Finnigan to offer for firstie shenanigans! He's Max's dormmate (who he dislikes) soooo if you all have room, I'd like to butt in too lol.

I would love to have Millie in a Transfiguration class thread, although she's too old for the First/Second year class. She's third year, do you have an OWL class up yet?

Barring that, I'd be happy to thread with Basil or Callum, it may be a little bit before I get to them. Though if Callum wants to save Millie from some bullying by Max after our current thread, that could be fun. Not sure yet on Head of House interactions, unless Millie gets in trouble for visiting her cousin in Hogsmeade (and ducking out of the chaperoned group to do it).
