Tiger didn't really have time to get away before the things hands were on his neck. It was painful, certainly but soon the corpse had crumbled to dust.

"Well, sounds like we know where to go next," he said as he rubbed his neck, wincing slightly as his hand moved over the fresh scars.

Freddie was watching with rapt attention as the corpse tried to strangle MacFusty, and let out a rather unmanly little noise that sounded something like eep! when he saw the damage to the man's neck.

If the victim himself wasn't going to fuss over it, though, Frederick certainly wasn't going to bring it up — or acknowledge the noise he himself had just made — and so he soberly turned his attention in the direction of the village, a shade or two paler than he had been at the start of this adventure.

Thaddeus jumped when the corpse made to throttle Mr. MacFusty, one hand outstretched to pull at the creature's arm should it not let go. But before his help was needed, the skeleton crumbled to dust.

Thaddeus blinked hard in disbelief and shook his head when he caught sight of the wounds. It was a terrible business, but his thoughts where already pinned firmly on Salem Square. He looked in that direction and waited for the rest of the group to settle themselves, itching to get going.

As the corpse grasped Mr. MacFusty's neck, Clifford let an audible gasp. The horror didn't last long, as the corpse crumbled into dust seconds after it touched Mr. MacFusty. The man seemed to be calm about it, and only burn marks could tell what terrible situation he just was in.

Such stoic behavior made Clifford ashamed of how horrified he was, but it was also inspirational, somewhat.

Meer felt a little guilty about the marks - after all, she’d encouraged Mr. MacFusty to use the sword. But it had worked, so she didn’t feel bad enough to feel real guilt.

”Onwards!” she said, and did so. But she reached into her bag for her vial of scar cream and
offered it in Mr. MacFusty’s direction. ”This might help alleviate scarring.”

Mason rather thought this whole thing was far more ridiculous than it needed to be. He watched the whole situation go down in abject horror, brief as it was.

In disbelief, all he could do was push on and follow the clues. The sooner they were done with this, the better!

The only building in the square that has the lights on is the casino. The doors are wide open. How inviting!

The auror's instincts were in overdrive. If the corpse-man's existance had not been enough to convince her that everyone else here had no business being involved, his attack upon MacFusty had. Even Maeve herself, with all her training and her fiery nature, felt altogether out of her element and wanted to leave. The casino doors, though, were nearing the final straw.

"Well if this isn't a trap, I don't know what is," the redhead offered frankly, stopping several yards short of the building itself.

"Agreed with you on that one," Tiger commented idly as he surveyed the Casino building. Entering the Casino was probably the logical next step but Tiger was very certain that doing so was not going to go well for them.

Miss Connolly was right. It was a trap. Even if it wasn't a fog-related trap, vices such as gambling were traps for a soul. They manipulated human greed to draw money from the gullible and weak-willed. And Magical Jesus looked down upon such practices, Clifford was sure.

So the healer wasn't entirely surprised that the fog was somehow related to a local casino. Could it start there as a punishment for gamblers' sins? Although Clifford believed in this theory, he didn't share his thoughts. Too many times he was misunderstood when he expressed any faith-related ideas.

"Do you think there's more of those corpse-men inside?" he asked, eyeing the building critically. He hadn't even heard the directions from the man, so he didn't know where they were going. Did it have to be the Casino?

#76
"If there are, we'll set them on fire this time," Meer said darkly. Their alternative to going in was - what? Give up? Go home? That was an option, but it was not one she was inclined to pursue. "So. What do we do?"

#77
Thaddeus frowned at the casino door, tapping his fingers idly against his thigh as he thought. It did seem trap-like, but at the same time the lake was turning to blood and they'd just killed a corpse. The typical rules of logic did not apply at the moment, unfortunately.

"The Creature sent us here for a reason. We should go in, but take precautions. Perhaps there is another entrance?"

The casino still looms over them.

Mr. Davies has an interesting thought process: there's a staff entrance to the casino on the side of the building.

Mason stared at the building looming over them. Going straight in left him with an uneasy feeling, a sentiment shared by his group mates, but they had to do something other than stand there and twiddle their thumbs idly.

"A side entrance may not be watched." He agreed with Thaddeus on that front. If they were able to sneak in the side perhaps She would not be watching.

"The creature who burned MacFusty's throat told us to go here," Frederick clarified. "So I'm not inclined to think his 'reason' was for the best interest of our health and well-being."

He had never used the side entrance (despite having been a patron of the Casino on several occasions) and therefore had nothing useful to contribute on that front, but it did seem marginally better than the gaping maw of the front doors.
