I Want You To Be Happier {NEWT DADA}

MEMORY: Arriving at Hogwarts and being sorted into Hufflepuff, unlike the majority of his siblings.
AND… 5
What could be a happier memory? It seemed that this one wasn't really working out. Lucky thought through other possible memories. Deciding on one that would likely shock him if it worked, he decided to give it a chance. The sorting ceremony, being placed in Hufflepuff. A seperate house than that of his siblings. Being his own person, even as the youngest. "Expecto Patronum!"

More effort, that is what Luce thought of as she tried correcting her stance and making another attempt. "Expecto Patronum!"

His smile was that of pleasant surprise as the results of his pupils began to improve. Not only had both Baird and Warbeck achieved the telltale wisps of silver on their latest attempt—a testament to the hardworking nature of Hufflepuffs?—but Bingham’s efforts, which at first had seemed much the same with its sprawling nature, on closer examination appeared to have eight ghostly tentacles.

An octopus, Nikolai realized, with a short, but audible laugh. “Excellent work, Mr. Bingham,” he commended the lad. “Fifteen points to Ravenclaw!”

James felt victorious as he managed a wisp though his sense of victory was lightly dampened by Bingham's victory. An octopus? What did that say about Bingham as a person, he could not help but to wonder. More determined than ever to also achieve the same success, James cast the spell again. "Expecto patronum."

His insufferable roommate had managed to produce a patronus which rankled a little. Improving his stance a little, he cast the spell again. "Expecto patronum." He really hoped he would get it this time. Bingham was bound to rub it in his face if he didn't manage it.

A different student had gotten it right. Completely right. She took a moment to observe him, to adjust, take a deep breath, and then refocus on the memory and the spell. Please she did not have to wait another year, or her whole life, to cast a patronus. But she let that thought melt away as she concentrated. "Expecto Patronum!"

Perhaps it wouldn't be in the cards for her, but Acacia kept trying. "Expecto Patronum!"

Concentrate, focus. What else could he do? Deep breaths. Relax. Focus. "Expecto Patronum!"

Was she even confident in being able to cast this spell? Maybe it just wasn't meant to be. Oh well, there was still time left in class. Thus she made another effort. "Expecto Patronum!"

It was not, Nikolai thought as the bell signalled the end of the hour, the most illustrious finish. Still, in the last pass, Miss Whitledge had managed  wisp of silver—certainly better than nothing—and Mr. Baird, the ghostly, incorporeal form of a cardinal. Nik commended the Hufflepuff on his efforts as the students gathered up to leave.
