Emmeline honestly didn't like the way the conversation was going. She thought they were past all of that. Apparently there was still something lingering there for Charlie in regards to Mr. Whitledge even if she'd long ago put him from her mind. She honestly had no plans of ever speaking to him again if she could help it.

"Though I'm sure you'll find it hard to believe," she started to say, choosing to not mention any more of Mr Whitledge, "I once was a rather timid and meek girl. I've not made many close friends over my years at Hogwarts. There's a house elf I've tried to befriend but he's wanted nothing to do with me no matter how hard I've tried." She'd win the little bugger over eventually, she was sure if that.

"There is one girl though," she continued unsure how much she should really say in regards to Sherry, "We've been close enough since first year. She can be.. A bit intense though. We're quite opposite really when it comes down to it."

Feigning a smile, Charles found the idea of a grumpy house elf rather amusing before he realised there was one when he was at school. Though he'd played more than a few pranks on it. Charles wasn't the nicest of people though it seemed Emmeline brought out the best in him.

"House Elves... the ones at Hogwarts... are interesting, to say the least," He mused though for the life of him, the name of the elf he was thinking of had escaped him.

Once she mentioned her intense friend, Charles perked up a little. He was still fixated on trying not to let his thoughts about Mr. Whitledge known. It seemed to be working.

"Oh?" He said with a raised brow, moving to lay on his side with his head perched on his hand; resting on his elbow, "Sometimes you need a friend who is opposite to you. Is she a good friend at least?"

Emmeline eyed him curiously regarding his remark about house elves. There were typically three types of students when it came to house elves at Hogwarts. The ones like her that were kind and nice to them, trying to befriend them. Those that simply ignored their existence. Then the type that tormented the poor things. She had a feeling he was of that final group.

"You were a student to torment them, weren't you?" she asked, though her tone was playfully and not in that slightest chastising.

"And yes, Sherry is a good friend," she said with a nod, "I'm certain I could count on her should I ever find myself in trouble. Though, it's more likely I'd be the one helping her."

"I..." Charles paused, "... tried to entertain them."

If, of course, to entertain meant to cast the jelly-legs jinx on house elves on more than one occasion. At least he was entertained. And then he supposed, in that sense the two were complete opposites; she'd tried to befriend one. He... didn't.

He chuckled a little at her remark though, "I'm sure you've been in more trouble recently then she. Unless she's been seeing someone too?" He said with a smirk.

At least the tension seemed to have gone, he supposed. He liked that. He liked seeing her smile.

"I'm glad you've got friends you can depend on," Charles said thoughtfully, "Though if that fails, you will always have me."

Emmeline laughed lightly. Of course he did. She could just imagine the things he did to the poor elves. No wonder some of them were so damned ornery. She guessed she couldn't really blame them as a result. Though, she would do what she could to give them at least a little faith in humans.

"No, not that I'm aware of," she said with a shrug, "I've told her a bit about us. Not a lot though so you don't have to worry.. But she's been asking for plenty of details. Says she wants to live vicariously through me." She blushed at the thought of other things her friend had said as well. "She's actually a bit of a bad influence I'm sure," she added as a bit of an after thought.

She turned a bit more on her side so that she mirrored his position to look at him. "But despite having her for help, I'm sure all I truly need is you," she said as she smiled at him.

"Well I'm all yours, Ems," He said with a smile though very quickly turned back to what she'd said a moment prior, "But oh? What details pray tell, did you tell her? Or, more interestingly, which did you omit?"

There was a tease in his voice and the idea of making her blush - as evidently she was - was enough to send him into the usual routine.

He wanted her to blush again. To get embarrassed. She was cute when she was embarrassed.

And they were secluded. He could get away with pushing the boundaries once again.

#23
He certainly got his wish as Emmeline's cheeks flushed at wanting to know what she'd told Sherry. Or hadn't told her. She didn't want to make him mad if she did admit to telling her a bit. But she didn't really want to lie, either.

"Well I told her we've kissed," she said, unable to really meet his gaze out of embarrassment as she drew circles in his coat with her finger, "And that maybe I'd asked for lessons." And even though she couldn't meet his gaze in that moment, there was no doubt that her face was fully flushed with such an admission.

Charles grinned as her fingers encircled his coat, "We've kissed more than once." He teased.

Bringing the hand he wasn't resting on up, Charles ran his fingers through her hair; moving it over her hair to get a better look of her features.

"And oh? You enjoyed your... lessons?" Charles smirked.

Maybe he would give her some more "lessons".

#25
That was true. Very true. And it only made Emmeline blush that much more. But when he started to run his fingers through her hair, she couldn't help but to look up at him. She was smiling, but it was a timid one at best. He didn't sound angry. That was a good thing.

"I have," she said, still smiling faintly as her big brown eyes searched his face trying to gauge his reaction, "The last one certainly left a rather.. heated impression." If her dreams that had plagued her for the weeks without seeing him were anything to go off of anyways.

Well, that was unexpected. Lulling his head to the right slightly, Charles quirked his brows and let his lips curl into a soft smile, "Heated?" Charles played.

He had an inclination as to what heated meant exactly though his imagination gave him a very clear picture and if the red flourish of her cheeks was anything to go by, she was likely thinking the same thing.

With his thoughts turned to her skirt being hoisted around her waist, Charles exhaled and bit his lower lip; mentally shaking his head.

No. He wasn't going to do this.

"I would love to hear what you mean by heated, my..." And there it was again. On the tip of his tongue; the 'L' word, "Angel."

He guessed that worked.

#27
Emmeline didn't really know how to respond beyond a small nod of agreement when he echoed the word heated. That was, perhaps, putting it lightly. Some of her dreams had been rather.. intense. And, as a result, she hadn't been getting the best of nights' sleep since then. It was rough.

"Let's just say my dreams have been rather vivid and I've not been sleeping all that well," she said, the wariness of her voice surely heard but s he didn't look away from him. She wasn't ashamed. Or at least, she didn't think she was. But it was rather embarrassing regardless. Especially since she had never experienced anything beyond their rather intense kisses. Who knew if her imagination was even things that could happen.

Hearing her wary words, Charles moved a little toward her and exhaled, "Oh?" He said.

Though he could hear her wary voice - it felt as though it wasn't because she was uncomfortable, it was more because she was definitely just embarrassed and hesitant to reveal what she was revealing.

Unfortunately for her, Charles wanted - needed - to know more. And he wasn't going to stop until he heard the words leave her lips.

"What do you mean by vivid?" He knew the answer. He just wanted her to say it.

#29
Emmeline's breath caught slightly in her throat as she realized he wasn't going to let it go. Maybe she shouldn't have said anything. Or maybe things would progress further and she'd be able to relive such things in her dreams. She was torn, really.

"Well.." she started, almost tentative as she brought the hand up that had been drawing circles to trail down his jawbone, "There was a lot of touching." Her voice was soft as she said it, still slightly wary but as she kept going, that started to fade.

"And plenty of kisses," she added, smiling at him as she said it, "Plenty more lessons that often lead me to wake up in a bit of a sweat and unable to fall back to sleep.."

Nodding, Charles moved his hand to brush against her neck before allowing it to drift down her collarbone and across her chest; resting at her stomach, "Touching, you say?" He said with a playful tone.

It was clear that both their mindsets had somehow drifted in similar directions and the breeze that brushed past them in their little secluded spot was only exacerbating whatever it was that was happening.

He hadn't ignored her comment about sweating and kissing. He felt like - wanted - that to come later. Maybe.

"Like this?" Charles asked innocently, his eyes fixed on hers to take note of her reaction, trailing his hand further across her body and moving down to her thigh before coming to a halt.

[post]Emmeline nodded again, not really trusting her voice. She caught her bottom lip between her lip as she felt his hand trail along different parts of her body as she willed her eyes to remain on his. There was a longer in her eyes as she watched him despite the blush of her cheeks. That, however, was likely to remain forever on her cheeks in such situations.

"There was just.." she paused, hesitant to finish saying what she was thinking, "Far less clothing." That made her face flush entirely, hardly believing she'd admitted to such a thing.

Smirking again, Charles squeezed her thigh and leaned in to plant a soft kiss on her lips. He didn't allow the kiss to linger and instead pulled away and tugged at the hem of the shirt she was wearing - though the layers made it difficult to really do much else.

He wasn't trying to pull it off 'nor was he trying to insinuate as such. Instead, the red of her cheeks was enough to send him to tease her as much as he could.

"Is that so? Would you prefer less clothing right now?" Charles asked as he allowed his fingers to brush underneath her top layer, "Because I'm getting the idea that you would."
