When it became apparent that Miss Midford was incapable of targeting the boggart, Handsome slid his hand out in front of her in a protective manner and nudged her backwards. The boggart apparently noticed his sudden shift, as it spun until it fully shifted into another form (or rather, forms): Darling, Honey, Pumpkin, Cupcake, and now Maddie, standing beside his twin, shouting what he thought were insults. The sheer volume was enough to overwhelm him, and he found himself shakily holding up his own wand. This may have been the only time having Sweetie there would have been a good thing; he would have been annoyed enough to simply cast the spell out of spite.
