Emmeline hadn't meant to make him feel badly. She understood fully why they hadn't seen much of each other. He had a career he had to see to after all. She was just a lonely student stuck surrounded by fog without her closest friends around. It made for a rather boring summer. She was just restless and didn't know how to do it. But she found herself nodding when he mentioned his mother missing the stars.

"I miss them, too," she said softly, her eyes still focused above her, trying to imagine the stars above in the night sky. It would be a rather romantic setting, really. She hoped that maybe one day they'd be able to revisit it. Though, unless they were married, it would be unlikely they could. Not without causing a bit of scandal in the process.

She couldn't help the shocked expression when she heard the name from his mouth. She sat up a little then, propped on her elbows as she tried to read his features at what exactly he meant by that.. She was hurt by it if she was to be honest with itself and it likely flickered over her visage as a result.

"I.. no.." she said, unsure how to respond, "Why would you even ask of him?"
