Finnian, having fled when Spryly and the crocodile decided to have a go at it, was unaware that the events were over and was still internally panicking. Were MacKay and the kid lost forever? Would they be blamed for their deaths? Would he be defending Tatting and Mrs. Bones and himself for leaving them to die?

He really didn't want to go to Azkaban, even if the laws were likely in their favor. There was no telling what the Ministry would do to try and play damage control.

"M-Maybe we should go back and see if they're alright." Maybe. He'd only go if the others agreed.
