Phoebe didn't really know what she'd meant by the gentle caress of his cheek. It was quite out of the ordinary for the narcissistic woman. But his shift to pull his trousers back up and to sit in his own chair was enough to bring her to reality somewhat. At least enough for her to readjust her own clothing so she was somewhat more of a presentable lady.
She was surprised that no one had come in but even though it had felt like they'd been entwined for hours it was likely only a few minutes.
Having caught the pill, she held onto it and nodded with a faint smile. "You'll stay here then," she said with an confident sort of tone, "I'll have a room made up for you. If my husband should show up though, you're simply a friend of a relative that found yourself stranded within the fog."
Perhaps she should have mentioned she had a husband earlier.
