ACAB | ANY REP | SUMMER GAME

What: Wizards/Witches vs Inferi: A Hogwarts Summer Game
Who: All current students may participate
Cost: Free for all students, incoming First Years and dropouts must acquire legitimate equipment themselves.
Where: Hogsmeade or Magical London. See also: Safe Zones below.
Why: Summer is boring without a little fun and/or mischief.
When: June 1 - September 1, 1893 (excepting Tu/Th)

(For those not familiar with the real world game, see Humans vs Zombie)

Before leaving Hogwarts, your student was offered an enchanted, white band of cloth as a means to participate in WvI. If displayed as an armband/headband/etc, it means that they are playing and if white, it means that they are still alive and can be 'killed' by the Inferi. Inferi are a select-but-growing group of students whose winning goal is to 'kill' the live Wizards and Witches in the game, by use of the Finite or General Counter-Spell. Your student is very welcome to want to start out as the Inferi, too, or be one by the time you first write them playing!

(Over the course of the summer, however, students have established the real way to 'kill' their victims, with dueling spells like Petrificus Totalus and Expelliarmus.)

Technically the game is only for of-age students between sixth and seventh years, but in practice all underage students can join in. Even underage dropouts who manage to acquire the enchanted status bands somehow are able to participate. Of course, the adults are not to know about this, at least until the savvy/cool ones learn about it. And for those unwitting victims of a stray spell or mischievous Inferi player, it's all in good fun!

Safe zones are designated as all indoors locations, except the Hogsmeade Hall and High-Street Ballroom. Also, Tuesdays and Thursdays are generally marked as safe days, to allow for Market visits without adult awareness. However, there's no defensive charms to prevent the status band from being attacked in a safe zone, just peer pressure.

Any participating student who returns to Hogwarts in the fall with a still-white band wins a prize. And if all returning students have black bands (or missing, losing your band qualifies as being 'killed') then the Inferi win. A dozen chocolate galleons to each Witch or Wizard winners, or one to each Inferi if they win.

And may the odds be ever in your favor!
