In terms of friends - Longwei Chang is a different class - on the upper end of middle class, but also sort of 'chained' to his family.
Bernard Prewett - although a different age group but has lodgings and as long as he brings a bottle or some tobacco he can kip with Bernard whenever.
Rose Hart's ladies are also available for an evening or two and itinerant upper-class males are their specialty.
