Tig wasn't altogether sure what she'd been expecting from him but she didn't appreciate what she did get.

"Fine." She stared at him with a thunderous look. Her further was such that it seemed to have gone full circle and granted her self-control. At least on a surface level, in reality she was almost certainly going to regret her actions sooner rather than later.

Not breaking her gaze, her right hand grasped her left for a second or so. When her right hand pulled back, she then thrust her palm flat against his chest, pinning the small piece of metal she'd removed from her hand between them. "Fine." She withdrew her hand, leaving her wedding ring to the mercy of gravity.

"You don't need me and I don't need you." Tig turned her back on him and strode swiftly away. In that moment she had every intention of walking straight out of the house and never setting foot in it again, something she was almost guaranteed to regret once her rage died down but by then the price of fixing her mistake would be sacrificing her pride, assuming he did nothing to prevent her from following through on her change of mind.

It wasn't until she pulled away and let the ring drop to the floor that Tiberius realized she'd had anything in her hand at all. His attention had been focused elsewhere, on her expression and her words. Even after it hit the floor, it took him a second to find it with his eyes and realize what it was. By that point, she was well on her way to leaving.

"You can't go anywhere else," he pointed out, loud enough for his voice to carry to her as she left. It was true: the Vow she'd sworn would keep her from fleeing the country or running into the arms of a lover, and without his oversight in her life she might very well die of one of the other clauses. Even so, he didn't imagine it would stop her. He didn't think she had any intention of going anywhere else. She was just going away.

She hadn't gone far enough to miss what he'd called after her and as a result she took greater haste in leaving. For some reason her rage was worsening rather than easing as she'd thought it would. Why that might be she didn't know, but she was certain that stopping would be worse still.

"If I never see you again it'll be too soon!" she shouted back in her native tongue. Her one regret, she told herself, was not taking a bath before leaving.
