OOC - Not dated, but for reference was written in September of 1876. Sent on September 18, 1888.
I am incredibly distraught! After not seeing you in Herbology class or anywhere in the castle, I did some digging and have just had it revealed to me that you are not coming back to Hogwarts this year. I so enjoyed being your partner in Herbology class! You are the most intelligent girl I have ever had the pleasure of studying with - and incredibly beautiful! Every time I looked at you and our hands accidentally brushed - my heart fluttered - even with gloves on I could feel the magic between our hands.
My new partner is not nearly as interesting as you, nor cheerful, and most certainly not lovely. He breaks wind often and at this point, I think he's doing it to me on purpose.
I dreamt about your laugh all summer and had been looking forward to hearing it in person again. I have no way of knowing why you left and I don't believe you'd react fondly to this letter, which is why I am going to keep it with me forever as a reminder of my love for you and what we shared, fleeting as it was.
