Did You Know?
Did you know? Jewelry of jet was the haute jewelry of the Victorian era. — Fallin

Flora shrugged. While it was interesting to hear what houses others—even complete strangers!—thought she might end up in, it seemed she had a rebuttal to every opinion. Did she even have a preference?

"I'm sure I could do well anywhere, I suppose. House doesn't influence grades, right?" she offered in response. Of course, some houses had reputations of being higher-achieving compared to others, but that was correlation rather than causation...or at least she hoped so. "I'm not very bookish nor studious. I don't know."

Houses influencing grades? Though Acacia never personally saw anything like that, there was the possibility of professor favoritism. "Not to my knowledge. I'm also not a professor though." She responded.

Bookish and studios. Well, that was supposedly a reason to be put into Ravenclaw. "Not all Ravenclaws like books. I know a few that would much rather speak about topics that they are quite interested in, or doing something creative." She pointed out to the young girl.

Flora pondered the information revealed to her by the older girl. "I do like creative things—I love to sketch, especially dresses. One day I'll design my own dresses, have my seamstress make them, and lead the fashion scene like my Mama," she declared with her head held high.

Sketches were something that Acacia was far more familiar with. Art was her passion. "I love art, painting is one of my favorite things to do. I would love to see your designs some time." She said kindly, giving the girl a warm smile.

Flora smiled. "Well I haven't done any yet," she admitted with a cheeky grin. "But one day I will—and they'll be more popular than Marcus Lytton's!" she continued with a giggle.

Acacia thought about that for a moment. "Perhaps we can draw together some time. I have always found flowers to be rather complex, which adds to their beauty. Inspiration comes from many places. Dresses aren't the main thing that I have drawn personally, but perhaps finding inspiration from different things can give your designs a unique flare." She responded thoughtfully. This topic was quite a fun one, there were so many things that she could say about art.

Flora shrugged. "I could draw any flower without having to look at it. My name is Flora—I'm sure you can imagine that flowers were the first thing I was taught to draw," she answered knowingly with a roll of her eyes. "But I'm sure we can draw together sometime. Are you in Art class?"

#56
Well that was said with quite the amount of confidence. "That is a fair point. Though there are some types of flowers that are very complex, if you look closely enough." She pointed out. Despite a name, that does not mean that one is an expert on something. Acacia was not an expert on wand woods. "I am in the Art class. It is quite fun." She responded.

"Even if they were that complex, I can't imagine that level of detail would fit on a dress design," she pointed out, her hands finding their way to her hips without thought. "I don't know why I'd waste my time drawing things that I have no use of," she added with an air of haughtiness.

#58
Forget what she had thought before. This girl was certainly a Slytherin. The attitude gave it away. Though there were some Ravenclaws that were like this as well. "Well, your opinion is your own. Art is always up for interpretation." She stated simply.

Flora gave a carefree shrug, not really caring much about the deeper intricacies of artwork at this point in time. She liked to draw what brought her happiness—just like she liked talking to people who brought her happiness. Boredom aside, this ginger was beginning to make her feel defensive, and she didn't want to deal with that.

"You could say that," she agreed. "I should probably go back to my room; my Mama might want to have tea today and nobody likes disappointing their Mama! Bye now!"

And then, without giving the older redhead a chance to counter, she slipped away.
