Me: [character played by Ford's PB] was very similar to Ford. That doesn't always happen. It's pretty rare actually, I feel like more often I hear "oh I was watching this and it was very UN-character and it was so weird". Like there's kind of a dissonance there that's hard to move past.

Philomena Sprout I basically only tell Jack about "the good stuff" aka the really dramatic threads and culminations of long plot lines and stuff, and any time I'm doing that I'm probably going to talk for like 20+ mins so I do ask if he's up for it first xD In the same way I would preface other lengthy stories or rants or whatever - get some water and buckle in hahaha.

But we talk about Charming a lot more often because if he sees me smiling/laughing while writing he'll usually ask me what's up and I'll explain, and then if we manage to go a few weeks without it coming up in conversation he'll ask what's new on Charming lately. But I don't give him regular recaps unprompted.

Me: Definitely not intentional.
Jack: You should have a plot line where a Muggle gets stuck here, has to go on this journey and pair up with unlikely friends to reach the Minister to get it sorted out.

Jack: Work your way all the way to the top of this fantastical society, find out it's just more patriarchy.

Max watched the first Harry Potter movie during the flight. Afterwards I asked him what it was about:

"It's about a kid, who can't turn into a lizard yet, but he's in lizard school. And he used magic on a teacher who was mean to him and then the teacher turned to ash, but then he turned into an ash GHOST and went through the kid and the kid fell down."
