Dear Cousin Emma,

I must apologize for not having written sooner. How are you faring? I hope all is well for you and your family under the present circumstances.

I wish I had some useful news or information to offer you regarding that insidious fog but I'm afraid I know nothing more than what is common knowledge already. With all luck it'll be gone in a week or so, and in the meantime I hope you are staying indoors as much as possible, not that I think you need telling you've always had an admirable intellect.

While I cannot offer much in the way of assistance for now should you need anything my parents are still in their Wellingtonshire residence and may be of some help. My daughter also happens to be staying with them should your children be in need of occupation.

If there is anything I might be able to do for you, consider it done.

Ever yours,
Charles

Cousin Charles,
July 10th
I can confirm that myself and Killian are well; we sent the children to Lunarbridge with the nanny, and I am told that they are doing very well under the circumstances. I am afraid I was not expecting any news from you regarding the fog, as I am not entirely sure what your department could do about it. I have been spending a great deal of time with not only my husband, but also my sister and your mother, and your mother has provided particularly excellent company in the fog. I have not seen Althea but I am told she is well.

I am in need of nothing but if you find yourself at Lunarbridge I would appreciate more updates on my other children. Otherwise, keep on keeping on, I suppose.

Regards, your cousin,
Emma

Cousin Emma,

It is very reassuring to hear you are doing so well, all things considered, and that you and Mother have been keeping company together.

As it happens I may have to call in at Lunarbridge next week, if I do I shall make sure to check in on my nephew and nieces, although I hope the fog will be gone by then.

Yours,
Charles
