~— A B O U T — This is a kind of re-introducing, however Cal's been revamped, and he's been added to my Healer roster so here we go! He's still his grumpy, gruff self, and less out for revenge (though he now has a morally grey streak, so no promises there): ❧ Former schoolmates/friends: Younger Cal was much more lively than the Cal that you would know today. He was still competitive, frugal and protective, however since his sister's death in 1871, and then Rose's death after being rescued by her, he has bouts of anxiety and depression and (during the extremely bad days) a dash of misanthropy. After enduring more than his fair share of pitying looks from people after the second tragedy, Cal keeps his emotions under a tight lid around those he doesn't know. Around close friends, he loosens up! ❧ Co-workers: As a boss, Cal is fair but has high expectations for his team. There are times when he might not seem the most approachable, but contrary to his general disposition, he loves his work and enjoys solving the problems that arise. He's good under pressure, and enjoys being at the hospital. ❧ Patients: Despite his mental health, Cal isn't without empathy and makes a good healthcare practitioner when it comes to diagnosing issues and resolving them. Having watched a lot of Grey's Anatomy, I'd love to create some drama with him at the hospital, so any healers around, come at me! ❧ Hurling: Yes pls I would like all the hurls! So far, Cal is not the easiest person to crack, but once it happens, he's by your side thick and thin, and you'll likely see him smiling a bit more than usual.

I can offer Thaddeus Flint as a friend - similar age and socio economics. Thad probably prefers him now, so perhaps fairly shallow friends in school, and reconnected after the loses of Rose and Lily. He could invite him to join the Knights - for some pureblood masonic lodge type behaviour. Not death eatering, just feeling superior to half bloods and god forbid half breeds! He could probably use his linguistic skills in his cataloging of the books from the romanian archive - which ties into the bibliomancy plot.

Murdock Greyback could be a friend - if he isn't purist. He probably feels some element of guilt for his injury, even though it wasn't him, but just broadly because it was a werewolf.

Merida Greyback is at the other hospital, but a specialist in werewolf injuries so could either be ongoing treating him - or just about anything else! Grey's anatomy adjacent drama would be fabulous! Although it would have to be inter hospital drama since Merida is Hogsmeade.


Ginevra Blackwood - Vera would hurl at him, unsure as to the chances of vibing - it'll be marmite I'm sure. She would try since he'd be 'good on paper' at the very least. But he has a decent interest in Quidditch so that's at least an in.

I can probably oblige with a few more patients with some of my others Merida, Honoria and Isis and Natsuko all have form for getting in trouble.

Isis does bare knuckle lady boxing and is a squib, so she could physically best an opponent and catch a curse for it after the fight. So that's an option for an easy one.

Delilah Warbeck as a colleague. She's in the Plant, Potion & Poison unit, and has been for a few years, so I think their paths would've crossed at some point.

I'm sure Gus saw him at several points while he was a Curse Breaker, and LBH, probably will during the summer months when he's goofing off while pretending he's still one. Maybe June while she practices her dark arts, under wraps of course lol.

Friend wise... I only really have Atticus Foxwood who is a couple years younger than him. Maybe Timoleon Maxime, but he doesn't really "do" friends lol. Plus now he's a werewolf so he'd be iffy around Cal.

I have no oneee to hurl. That makes me sad.

I could see him and Thad as acquaintances at the very least! Cal is probably at most a soft purist, given his profession requires him to be pretty anti-discrimination but he'd also definitely help with translations!

Could also see him being genial with Murdock too!

We had a thread with Cal 1.0 so I'm down to continue the same relationship with Cal 2.0! also SO down for inter-hospital drama >D

Ooo yes Delilah as a colleague pls! Their paths would definitely have crossed, I could see them being amiable to each other. He'd also admire her for her work ethic, since they seem to have the same viewpoint on it. I could also see them bonding over plants given that his office is lush with them. I could also see them being close enough friends that her kids call him Uncle Cal, which he'd hate but of course let them call him that anyways lol

Eeee Gus Gus <3 Yes pls, I could see them being a bit of a grumpy/sunshine friendship dynamic. If Gus goofs off too much I could see Cal barking at him to be careful. And for some reason I get the image of a parent seizing the back of a child's coat just before they jump off a particularly high ledge. Equivalent of that maybe? xDD

Could do acquaintances with Atticus and Timoleon! And you should make someone so I can hurl at themmmmm we need a ship D:

I'm tempted to hurl Georgie at him. She seems pretty much his opposite which... to be fair I'm expecting to fail spectacularly but still be funny because what does a gruff misanthrope nee but a perky optimist who has been severely sheltered.

  

We could definitely go for it! With her being 17 years old and even younger than his sisters, Cal might not really see her as much more than that, but I'm also down to try!
