2025: Three Charming Reads (selection thread)
#1
Inspired by the "12 book recommendations from 12 friends" trend, I thought I would adapt this for Charming! It is: simple.
  • Each person interested had two weeks to suggest 3-5 books they really really like. the suggestions thread can be found here!
  • Choose three books suggested by your fellow Charmers that YOU will endeavour to add to your 2025 TBR!

Kayte's Selections!

The Eyes are the Best Part
by Monika Kim
Recommended by Lady

Small Things Like These
by Claire Keegan
Recommended by Beanie

The Age of Innocence
by Edith Wharton
Recommended by MJ

So, I decided not to cheat and did not include the books that were already on my TBR (Bee's A Curious Beginning and MJ's The Finest Print; also I just finihsed Earl Crush which Lady recommended xD

I also have a prettier copy of Age of Innocence so I included that cover instead of the one MJ supplied :P

I am going with The Golem & the Jinni, the Lies of Locke Lamora and Delilah Green! I have two in my possession and the third has been surprisingly hard to find! XD

I will also read the Davenports, the Age of Innocence & Ne're Duke Well, but I've had one on my shelf for a year, so like Kayte, didn't choose things already on my TBR lol

I added The Thursday Murder Club, A Curious Beginning, Age of Innocence and House of Gold to my TBR. (Had my three picked, but Steph got me with historical fiction and WWI, so alas, now I have four.) Now which one to read first xD

Tentative picks are: The Naturalist Society, Time To Orbit: Unknown, Small Things Like These

Earl Crush and The Golem and The Jinni were runners-up, but I don't tend to read that many books a year so that may be pushing it for ambition xD
