May 22, 1888 — Affluence Area in Magical London
It was almost summer, and while that meant little most years, this year it meant that Carius — along with his friends — were heading off to Hogwarts! Narcissa would luckily be home to distract him this summer, otherwise he might find himself bouncing off the walls with excitement.

After a disappointingly short afternoon in the one of magical London's shopping districts, he and Sirius Black were taking their sweet time returning home, their child-watchers wandering from a distance. He was startled by the sudden poke on his arm, prompting him to cast a questioning glance towards Sirius, who — well, who looked to be holding an egg (or at least something shaped like an egg).

"What is that?" he asked with subtly-raised brows.

Sirius Black

This was one of those things that Aunt Ella explained to him and the governess was going to be really pissy when she figured it out, but she had not figured it out yet, and so Sirius had a bag of eggs from the kitchen in his napsack. She was also going to be pretty angry when she figured out that he could sneak into the kitchen, but that was its own thing.

"An egg," Sirius replied to Carius, with a grin, "We're going egging."

Egging? That was a very bad, no good idea, and he was sure that Sirius knew that. It's not like they were in the poorer areas of magical London — they were near their homes. Surely someone would see them and tattle.

"You don't mean we're going to egg—" He motioned towards the towering town-homes besides them. "those ones, do you?" Still, without hesitation, Carius took the egg and held it in his hand.

"Well, yes," Sirius said, "Otherwise, what's the point?"

Unless they were the homes of his mother's friends, he doubted that she would care, and Phineas wasn't home to care. He could do whatever he wanted.

After a moment to look between Sirius and his egg, he decided fine, he'd participate. After flashing his friend a smile, he looked between the nearest houses. Both looked equally large and important, with neither as the clear target.

"Which one do you suppose we do first?" he asked. "I think that one," he suggested, pointing towards the one with delicate gardens in the front, "would be the best."

"I agree, it looks far too deliberate," Sirius said. He offered the egg in his hand to Carius, and dangled his knapsack from one shoulder so that he could grab another egg from the bag.

"On three?" he asked.

#7
To say he wasn't nervous was a lie, but the possibility of being called a pansy by Sirius was even more nerve-wrecking. He took hold of the egg and nodded, his eyes scanning the house for the perfect target spot. "On three," he agreed.

"One," Sirius said, pausing for dramatic flair.

"Two."

This time, the pause was so he could secure his grip on the egg and prepare to let it fly at the house's front door.

"Three."

Sirius hurled his egg towards the house.

#9
Carius' egg flew moments after Sirius', but instead of hitting the house with a smack, the eggs bounced right off the walls and flew back at them! Eyes wide, Carius attempted to duck out of the way.

There was only one thing to be done.

"Run!" Sirius screeched, and the two fled the scene, surely to be admonished by governesses later.
