Lips twitching imperceptibly Elladora briefly considered whether this whole misbegotten incident might be worth it for the opportunity it had presented to frustrate her sister-in-law so much. It wasn’t of course – nothing would be worth this outrageous insult upon her character – but it did ease her thoughts a tiny bit, leaving her just moderately despondent and irritable rather than the fury she had felt coursing through her earlier.
In that respect, she supposed, Ursula had inadvertently helped.
“If it makes you feel any better I’ll be sure to keep your disgraceful behaviour,” she repeated the words back to Ursula with a pointed look. “Out of your obituaries when the time comes. Merlin knows your children don’t deserve a mother like you and nor do they deserve for your mistakes to haunt them.”
She licked her lips, spite falling out because it was easier to distract Ursula with that rather than let her keep digging.
“And in the many years you believe I shall outlive you I will take great delight in knowing exactly what you’re up to for once.”
