Printers Tess works too much and cares too much and her life consists equally of looking after her sisters and trying to keep her printshop afloat. She also has a secret called Archer Whitby. She needs: ❧ Pals!— She only attended Hogwarts for two years, but would have vicariously clung onto any unlikely friendships she made in that time. Also open to working class friends and neighbours, Hogsmeade shop workers and business contacts, and feminist-leaning friends. ❧ Printshop customers— Do you need [insert print job here*] typeset and/or copied? You can order by post or come along to the front of the shop. If you have anyone who would be a repeat/regular client let me know. *newsletters, notices, flyers, posters and pamphlets; calling cards, invitations and stationary; business letters, tickets and receipts, as well as picture prints, the occasional hardcover publication, etc! ❧ Misogynists— Or classists or conservatives, etc. Enemies welcome~ ❧ Hurls?— My characters don't always tell me who they're into right away, so I am open to throwing anyone out there until Tess and I figure where she stands! Romance is not exactly her priority, but... ❧ Identity confusion— Tess occasionally masquerades as Archer Whitby, a male "cousin". Most often to conduct business by letter, but she has been experimenting more often lately by dressing as a man. I don't have any firm plans here but am incredibly down for some Twelfth Night-esque gender confusion and shenanigans!

Greer or Winnie for friends maybe? Winnie was a couple years ahead and a Ravenclaw, but is also a WC working lady. Technically she could count as a hurl too if Tess isn't sure what she likes Greer is Greer and could use more friends.

She was in Harvey's year at school? Elsie was the same house and the year above (like you didn't know that) Alvin was in her year as well!

Haven't started this idea up but this could become a ~thing. Too young for them to have been friends but Ida would befriend someone that could make her aware of important events and discourses for women etc

Also for #Hurls I have Derek McKinnon, who lives in London but I think likes the idea of Hogsmeade.

I could see her and Vera being friendly, Vera would be very interested in the mechanics of the printing press, actually.

  

I think my best people for her are my fellow high street peeps Protego Lochrin and Lorelei Owens, or Viola Sinistra for WC peeps things. Lorelei might be interested in printing advertising for her burgeoning potions business, also.

I think she'd like both of them – if she knew Winnie at the time of Sage's #struggles she might have leaned on her a little bit if she could/asked some weird questions etc?? Greer would be a newer acquaintance obvs, but if they get close Tess might need someone's help tailoring men's clothes one day!

Idk if they'd have kept up friendships since school, since Tess wasn't there for long and they're all MC, buuuut I do think she'd ask after Harvey as a ~name she knows in Saffy's department at work, be vaguely "interested in old schoolmates' lives from a distance". She'd also be tentatively friendly to Elsie at the library.

Ida Chang Omg I love it, so here to develop something with Ida <3 Tess is so here to encourage that kind of thing! Tess is also connected to feminist circles through Clementine Greengrass if there's any overlap there?? They should all ~chat sometime.

Tess would be SO exasperated by Tommy lol, but if he has generous w/women's rights she would probably let him get away with it xD

Henry Berkwood I feel like Protego and Tess probably do know each other as fellow ~Hogsmeade business owners, but I also think Tess would be astounded at how easygoing and cheerful he is, bc she's uptight and stressed 24/7 hahaha. She might find him obnoxious, I'm not sure. xD

Viola could def be a family friend, I figure she knows Saffron best of the Whitbys but would be welcome to hang with any of the girls!

And Tess is happy to help with Lorelei's business ventures... Tess might also come to the apothecary or use Lorelei directly to try out some appearance or voice-changing potions sometime.
