1869 | On the eve of December 29th, Hattie Whitledge gives birth to twins: a boy named Handsome and a girl named Cupcake. While her husband complains about the "outlandish" names, her persistence eventually wears him down.

1870 | Pumpkin, the third child born into Handsome's family, enters the world

1871 | Hattie gives birth to another child, this time a single girl named Sweetie.

1873 | Darling is born. Her name is only slightly less outlandish.

1874 | One more sister, a particularly cranky baby named Honey, is born.

1875 | Cupcake shows her first sign of magic. Handsome feels left behind and spends the entire day sulking. He ventures to discover his own first sign of magic, getting into trouble on more than one occasion for trying to force it out of himself.

1877 | The muggle community discovers magic, leading the Whitledge family to settle into Hogsmeade alongside many of the other magical families. While the sudden move is met with anxiety on Handsome's part, it soon disappears when he realizes everyone around him is also magical. However, it does nothing to soothe his fears that he'll end up a squib.

1879 | Finally, at nine years of age, Handsome's first sign of magic makes an appearance.

1881 | Handsome and his sister receive their acceptance letters to Hogwarts, and in September they both join Gryffindor house. He’s a natural scholar, but tends to overwhelm himself. He joins numerous clubs on top of his academic commitments, only to skip meetings whenever his homework piles up.

1882 | Pumpkin begins her first year at Hogwarts and is sorted into Ravenclaw.

1883 | Handsome begins his third year and adds Ghoul Studies, Care of Magical Creatures, and Muggle Studies to his schedule. Sweetie also joins them at Hogwarts, but is sorted into Slytherin.

1884 | The year seems to be going well until tragedy strikes: Handsome's father dies from the laughing plague. After that, on top of the fire that ravages Wellingtonshire in the weeks following, Handsome's mother makes a sudden decision to move the family to the nearby village of Irvingly. Darling begins Hogwarts and is sorted into Hufflepuff.

1885 | Handsome is named Gryffindor prefect.

Spring, 1886 | In May, he sits for his OWL examinations. In September, Honey begins her first year at Hogwarts and is sorted into Hufflepuff. Handsome begins taking NEWT-level Charms, Defence Against the Dark Arts, Herbology, Potions, Transfiguration, and Care of Magical Creatures.

July, 1887 | Handsome’s mother dies in the disaster at the Wizarding World Market. Burdened with the sudden financial, emotional, and physical responsibility for his five younger sisters, Handsome turns to alcohol. He gets drunk publicly a few times, and received a reprimanding letter or two from his professors over the summer. It is only upon receiving his school letter—and his new head boy badge—that he sobers up.

1888 | Handsome graduates from Hogwarts and, under the influence of his dorm-mate and best friend, joins the Hogsmeade Howlers as a reserve keeper. His grandmother—his last Adult support system—is killed in the fog, and he goes on another bender.

1889 | Following the end of the quidditch season, Handsome leaves the Howlers in favor of an internship in the Department of Magical Law Enforcement. He thinks it'll help him "man up" and do something productive with his life. His plans are derailed when Pumpkin dies after a vampire attack in July.

1890 | Handsome switches to the Department of Magical Accidents & Catastrophes as an Obliviator, still unsure of where the best place for him to build a career is. He enjoyed the structure of a Ministry job and the possibility for advancement, but his heart isn’t in it.

1892 | Cupcake marries a man who he fortunately does not work with.

1893 | Sweetie joins the Ministry as an Unspeakable. Handsome avoids her at all cost, embarrassed by her decision to forgo the marriage mart in favor of a career—especially one more prestigious than his own. Matters are made worse when she runs for Minister for Magic, a position so outside of her qualifications that he can’t help but feel embarrassed on her behalf. Unsurprisingly, he does not vote for her. Honey graduates and is shipped off to finishing school (a mutual decision, as they figure it will be easier for her to find a husband when her sister is not in the middle of an election and her other sister is still husband-hunting).

1894 | Sweetie begins courting. Darling is still unmarried. Honey debuts. Handsome is still working as an obliviator. Everything seems relatively calm. For now.
