Did You Know?
Braces, or suspenders, were almost universally worn due to the high cut of men's trousers. Belts did not become common until the 1920s. — MJ
Had it really come to this? Passing Charles Macmillan back and forth like an upright booby prize?

General | Victory has dark hair and green eyes. He stands at an average height of five feet, seven inches and has a slender build. He is right handed.

Expressions | Victory tends to be rather stoic. He has become well-practiced over the years at hiding his emotions and it is rare to see them displayed across his face. Scent | He tends to smell lightly of petrichor due to it being his favoured cologne & scent.

History:
We are the reckless, we are the wild youth
CHILDHOOD: 1859 - 1869
Victory was born the third son to a couple of Hogwarts sweethearts that had gotten wed after a years-long standoff with Victory's maternal grandparents. They had eventually gotten tired of having to continue to deal with their now-spinster daughter and so the pair were wed. Victory's childhood was a loving and jubilant one. The siblings were close, the parents loving, their life blessed.

Victory had a burst of accidental magic at the age of seven, causing their toy brooms to race one another around the room. While the other King children grew out of their interest in brooms and Quidditch, the joy of them stayed with Victory. The twins eventually went off to Hogwarts and Victory felt their absence keenly.

Chasing visions of our futures
HOGWARTS YEARS: 1870 - 1877
Victory joined his older brothers in Hogwarts in 1870 and was sorted into Hufflepuff. He was a bright, happy child and had no troubles making friends of various backgrounds. He dreamed of joining the Quidditch team but was too young to do so during his first year. Instead he spent his first year trying to get the current Hufflepuff team members to teach him what they know. He also is no stranger to exploring the castles and getting into the sort of innocuous mischief that any adventurous first year might end up indulging in.

In his second year, he makes it onto the Hufflepuff team as a Seeker. He played that position throughout his school career. It was no surprise that the boy did not get a shiny prefects badge. After all, he was prone to lighthearted pranks and mischief and did not tend to take his academics all too seriously unless he was really fond of the class or instructor. What he did get in his sixth year was captaincy over the Hufflepuff Quidditch team. Both years that he was Captain saw Hufflepuff take the Quidditch cup victory.

Victory's school years were also marked by his friendship with a fellow male student whose family was at the lower end of middle class. It was a friendship that slowly blossomed into a romance as the two got older. Victory had love, a promising future career in Quidditch and was content as he graduated from Hogwarts and entered the world of being an adult. In 1877, Victory and his family move from London to Hogsmeade since most of their family friends are doing so.

Well, I've lost it all, I'm just a silhouette
EARLY ADULT YEARS: 1878-1884
It wasn't his first choice of teams but Victory is convinced to sign onto the Falmouth Falcons. He is a second string seeker for a year before being promoted to first string. He does not mesh entirely well with the team and does not get along with the captain who continuously encourages violence on the pitch. Victory decides to tough it all out, hoping it will get better.

Where his career isn't exactly picture perfect, Victory's romantic affair is going well. That is, until they are discovered by Bravery in early 1884. Bravery is not okay with what is going on between his brother and this man and he is determined to put a stop to it. Bravery traps Victory into a locked room and tips off a constable about Victory's lover whilst keeping Victory's name out of it. Victory is never quite sure what went down but it ends with his lover imprisoned. No one will tell Victory anything more than that and his letters are blocked from reaching the other man. Victory is devastated to be parted from his lover of ten years and is unable to forgive Bravery. He withdraws from the family and moves back to London on his own.

Victorys turmoil deepens when he gets news of Bravery's death from the Laughing Plague. He does not know what to feel. He never forgave him for what he did but he also loved him. Victory is full of equal parts grief and equal parts rage.

And if you're in love, then you are the lucky one
'Cause most of us are bitter over someone

ADULT YEARS: 1885 - 1890
His lover is gone, his Quidditch career still kind of sucks - especially since he keeps getting passed over for Captaincy in favour of more bloodthirsty teammates, he is on the outs with his once-close family (who don't know the details of why Victory and Bravery even had a falling out) and life is misery. It does not help any that he has an intense animosity with one of his teams beaters that often escalates to physical violence.

Everything comes to a head in 1888. A bludger injures his knee horribly and while it is never proven, many swear it was his own teams beater that actually did it, the one he had repeated altercations with. His knee is able to be saved but he is forever left with a limp and knee pain that acts up when it rains or snows. His Quidditch career is over and Victory spends the next couple years trying to pick himself up again. But life is hard and he doesn't know where he is meant to go from here.

He lives off of his allowance from his parents for a while and does his best to get his knee as well as it can get. He manages to get himself to a level where he doesn't not always need a cane. And then it happens, he is finally inspired once more. Attending the 1890 National Quidditch League games brings his old spark into his step and a conversation with someone that was his fan during his playing days has him deciding to become a coach.

The idea of ever going back to the Falcons is laughable. They had long worn-out his tendency towards loyalty. Instead, he ends up as coach for the Chudley Cannons, a team sponsored by a very young man that is also less wealthy than him. It feels a little weird but he very much likes the fact that the young man inherited the team from Nathaniel Gallivan, the boys father and has a very involved sister! It pulls at his family-oriented nature despite the fact that he is still at odds with his own.

To distract our hearts from ever missing them
But I'm forever missing him

PRESENTLY: 1891
Cassius Lestrange is made captain which Victory is personally a little surprised by. He is also not paid quite enough to care beyond his initial surprise. Lestrange is good at what he does, was on the National Team so Victory could see the possible reasoning behind Gallivans decision. Instead, his mind is much more occupied with one crucial piece of news that flips his world upside down: his former lover has finally been released from prison.
Personality:
Jovial and cheerful as a youth, Victory sometimes shows instances of his old personality but those moments are few and far between. He is a philosopher when drunk as well as affectionate. When he is sober, he can be aloof. He isn't unfriendly but he does keep a distance from other people. Has trust issues. He is a closet romantic and has a tendency to romanticize things. He is pretty secretive and doesn't often open up about himself and his life. He is hard working and loyal as well as generous to those that manage to win his hard-earned friendship. He is stubborn to a fault. Prone to sarcasm. A bit of an alcoholic. Indecisive as fuck so has taken to flipping a coin to help himself out with this aspect of his personality.
