Welcome to Charming, where swirling petticoats, the language of flowers, and old-fashioned duels are only the beginning of what is lying underneath…
After a magical attempt on her life in 1877, Queen Victoria launched a crusade against magic that, while tidied up by the Ministry of Magic, saw the Wizarding community exiled to Hogsmeade, previously little more than a crossroad near the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. In the years that have passed since, Hogsmeade has suffered plagues, fires, and Victorian hypocrisy but is still standing firm.
Thethe year is now 1895. It’s time to join us and immerse yourself in scandal and drama interlaced with magic both light and dark.

Did You Know?
Braces, or suspenders, were almost universally worn due to the high cut of men's trousers. Belts did not become common until the 1920s. — MJ
Though he had never shared Skeeters insistence that women ought not to duel Enoch had certainly nurtured the belief that women of quality ought not to debase themselves. True Miss Zabini was not quite the prize she had once been but she was still better than displaying herself and what Pendergast was thinking letting his wife compete he would never know!
Summarising the rules he inclined his head to both women.
Women of a certain background had painfully few outlets for their ire, but with each day Calliope's belly swelled even more, and Bellona's tempers rose ever hotter. Since the usual outlet (spreading vicious rumours) could not be employed against her father's wife no matter how little love she bore the woman, this tournament could not, frankly, have come at a better time.
With a curt nod, she cast a stunning spell at Mrs. Pendergast.
Why had she agreed to this? Even in Hogwarts she hadn't been much of a fan of dueling nor had she necessarily taken any sort of higher that would prepare her for dueling. Yes, she had taken both charms and transfiguration but those typically weren't taught with the dueling mindset. Oh, yes, she had signed up because of the charity aspect of the funds.
Unsure what else to do, she cast a shielding charm towards Miss Zabini.
Whatever he might have thought it was clear that Miss Zabini had come with strong intent but it was not enough to penetrate Mrs Pendergast's utterly perfect shield. Perhaps there was a little more of her father's prowess lurking behind the girl than Enoch had suspected?
"My compliments on an excellent charm Mrs Pendergast. When you are ready please begin the next round."
The surprise at her success was written across her face though was promptly followed by a small smile and nod of thanks towards Mr. Rosier. To retaliate she sent off a spell that would cause Bellona to start dancing.
Whatever spell Mrs Pendergast had been attempting - and it was weak enough that it fizzled out before Enoch could even begin to guess - it was entirely absorbed in one of the finest amateur shields he had ever witnessed.
"Miss Zabini takes the round and will begin the decider."
It seemed her streak of suprise luck hadn't seen her through, but little mind that. She never been one to reply on luck. To counter she cast a spell that would produce vines to wrap around Miss Zabini's arms and hopefully cause her to miss her aim.
Mrs Lestrange's spell worked so well that Miss Zabini's stinging hex flew off course and, inevitably, hit Enoch in the forearm. Hissing in pain he glared at the debutante.
