Perhaps it’s because he’s getting older or the fact that his entire house is full of feisty women, it’s starting to go a little grey and isoften haphazardly placed, due to constantly having his hands in it. He likes it that way; it matches his careless, carefree kind of nature. He's well built from years of quidditch training and takes pride in that. He's a righty, though ambidextrous when it comes to his #quidditch skills. Athletic in every sense of the word, it shows in the way he walks, with his head held high and his shoulders back. He dresses rather casually, more for comfort and function rather than formality. He has a perpetual tan from all of his time spent outside and often sports stubble as he's not always inclined to shave. History: [October 31, 1857] | Everett is born the second child to Walter and Emmaline Grimm, joining three-year-old brother Edmund. Walter and Emmaline were an odd couple, very rare for the time as Walter was a halfblood wizard and Emma a muggle. The two fell in love and against his parents better judgment, Walter told Emma. The pair got through it and married, settling down in Canterbury, England. [1859] | Walter receives a promotion in his department in the London Ministry. He headed the Accidental Magical Reversal Squad for several years. Ed displays his first sign of magic and scares Emma with it. [1864] | Everett and Ed discover a love of flying when their father buys each of them a broom. [1865] | Ed heads off to Hogwarts after receiving his letter that summer. Emma is nervous to send him, but Walter assures her that all magical kids go to Hogwarts and reminds her that he is a graduate himself. [1866] | While practicing flying in the secluded woods near his house, Ev collides with a tree and falls a good distance which should have killed him had he not displayed his first sign of accidental magic, causing him to bounce off the ground and back up to his broom. He never tells his mother, but does inform his father. Ev feared he would be a squib and had to tell somebody. [School Year 1869-70] | Everett gets his turn to head off to Hogwarts, leaving Emma all alone at the house. She goes through a bit of empty nest syndrome and has a bout of mild depression. Ev is sorted into Hufflepuff, much to nobody's surprise. Academics prove not to be his forte, but with Ed's help he gets the hang of it. He quickly excels at flying and socializing, but classes continue to be a struggle, though he is pretty good at transfiguration. [School Year 1870-71] | Trying out for the Hufflepuff Quidditch Team on a whim, Everett never expects to make the team, but with quite a few open slots, Ev makes the team as a chaser. (Apparently they were desperate to take a second year.) [School Year 1871-72] | Intimidated by adding more classes, Ev chooses to add Care of Magical Creatures for interest and Muggle Studies for ease.  H's a quick reader and hones the ability to skim his textbooks to get enough knowledge to skate by and keep enough acceptable grades to stay on the Quidditch team. Edmund graduates and snagged a second string position on a pro quidditch team. [School Year 1872-73] | After spending their summer at home, Emmaline seems to have come around to the fact that her boys are growing up and becoming adults. Ev continues to do just as much schoolwork as needed to keep him on the house team, though his social life, including with the ladies, flourishes. [School Year 1873-74] | Ev meets a young lass, then called Mallory Gallagher, who tries out for the house team as keeper. Ever the flirt, Ev was rooting for her to make it, but she loses out to an upperclassman. His OWL scores come out about as expected though he does do well enough to continue in Charms, Transfiguration, Care of Magical Creatures, Potions and Herbology. [Summer 1874] | Walter is tragically killed on an assignment gone horribly wrong. Sixteen year old Everett is devastated by the news, but nobody takes it harder than Emmaline. Walter had been her rock, her constant for so long and part of a world she couldn't understand. She quickly slides into a manic depression, blaming the ministry and wizarding kind as a whole for being unable to save her husband. Ed moves back in with his mum to keep an eye on her. [School Year 1874-75] | It takes Ev longer to get back into the swing of school, but it's a welcome distraction and he refocuses on quidditch, choosing not to tell anybody about the summer's events. It was in the newspaper however and he can't avoid it completely. However, rather than talk about it, Ev internalizes everything and throws himself into quidditch training, barely holding it together on the inside and the same quirky, outgoing guy on the outside. [School Year 1875-76] | Surprised and delighted to make captain this year, Ev steps easily into the leadership role. He chalks it up to the fact that quidditch was his main focus the previous year. Mallory, now going by Grace finally joins the Hufflepuff team as their keeper (the benefits of the old one graduating and Ev being captain). Ev enjoys having her around more often, though he isn't quite sure why. Upon coming home for Christmas this year, Ed approaches Ev about institutionalizing their mother. Ev can hardly argue with his brother, who had been living with Emma since their father's death. The stories and evidence pile up and the boys make the hard decision to have her put in bedlam. They debate between magical and muggle asylums, but can't envision a magical one taking in a muggle. They end up sending her to a muggle asylum. The boys pray that nobody ever takes what she says seriously. [May 1876] | Ev scrapes by in his NEWTs and after the boys sell their childhood home in Canterbury, Ev puts some in savings and takes the rest, basically disappearing from sight. [1877] | Ev is living in Italy, working piecemeal of jobs to keep himself afloat. He refuses to touch his savings in Gringotts and instead keeps moving around. He does some time on a muggle vineyard in Chianti before moving to Spain. He hears of the founding of an all magical community in Hogsmeade, but stays on the road, writing to Ed once in a great while just to let his brother know he was still alive. [Spring 1878] | Ev decides to visit Hogsmeade on a whim, just for a quick visit. The curiosity he hadn't yet felt about an all-magical town comes creeping up on him after living among muggles for over a year. It so happens he arrives on a Hogsmeade visit day, something new for the school as the town had just  recently been expanded. He runs into Grace and the two get up to no good. After a couple too many drinks they wind up in his room at the Broomsticks, sneaking upstairs when a scuffle between a few students breaks out and the chaperons' attention is diverted. He'd never admit it, but this is his first time with a girl and it clearly shows, though the two part on amicable, if awkward terms. [Summer 1878 - Early 1881] | Returning to his nomadic lifestyle for a few years, Ev still lacking any real goals in life, continues to booze and brothel his way around Europe. He spends time in Spain, Ireland, Sweden, America and a host of other places, working jobs on docks, in bars, manual labor, anything to make enough to keep a room and get himself some food. [March 1881] | Tired of traveling and feeling the need to settle somewhere more permanently, Ev meanders back to Hogsmeade. A few of his good friends from school have settled there and Ev could certainly think of worse places. With James and Anders around, he certainly enjoyed himself. It doesn't take him long for his old habits to catch up with him however and he ends up bedding a couple girls in town, one by the name of Mae Callahan. They have a short affair, lasting only a week or two, before they part ways. February 1882] | Still mostly-unemployed and mooching off James, the pair is shocked to find a baby on James' doorstep. The woman who dropped her off states that the baby girl is Everett's and that her mother died giving birth to the infant. Stunned and with no other choice, Ev decides to keep the baby and names her Ella Marie. This should slow down his shenanigans with a current fling by the name of Maggie O’Donnell, but Ev isn’t totally reformed yet, let’s be real. [Late Spring - Summer 1882] | Edmund moves into town and takes up a local job. Ev is drafted along with James and a few others for the Hogsmeade Trail expedition. Ella is left in the care of Eurydice Spencer, a valuable friend Ev has made through having Ella. [Fall 1882] | Ev puts his reward from the Trail into savings and then gets a job working at the Hog's Head as a bartender. He reconnects with Grace when she moves back into town and their friendship falls back into their old routine (minus the shenanigans). Ev moves in with fellow Hog's Head employee Eze Aesalon knowing James and Felicity Prewett are to marry in October and the two will be moving to Irvingly. James gives Everett a house elf named Flopsy for his birthday. That December Ev finds out that Maggie is pregnant, at first he thinks it's his, like Ella, but she assures him it's not. [December 1882] | Grace's brother dies in an accident and Ev feels an unexpected pull back to her he hasn't felt in quite some time. [January 1883] | Maggie leaves her infant girl on Ev's doorstep with a set of letters explaining she cannot take care of the baby and she would rather leave Vivian with Ev than with her real father. Feeling slightly responsible and like Vivi could have easily been his, he took her in with no complaints. Finally deciding to become the adult he already is, Ev gets a little help from the new Mrs. Riley and an in at the ministry. He starts a probationary period in the Broom Regulatory Office at the ministry under William Prewett. He works at the ministry and the HH for a while before settling at ministry in his position permanently. #thankmerlinforFlopsy [May 1883] | Eze marries his then pregnant girlfriend and Ev decides it's time to move in with Ed to give the expecting couple more room. Ev, Ella and Vivi, along with Flopsy pack up and move into Ed's Bartonburg home. [Summer 1883] | Running into a spat of trouble, Ella's mother, who is not in fact dead, resurfaces and now Everett is struggling to figure out what to do. He really doesn’t want her to have anything to do wit Ella; hell Everett is the more responsible of the two at this point. [October 1883] | Ev’s daddy instincts prove correct when Ella goes missing while with her nanny. Ev knows that she’s been taken by her mother, but cannot for the life of him find them. He slips down, fast. Two whole weeks he goes without his daughter, not sure if he’d ever see her again of where she was or if she was well-taken care of. On the night of his birthday, a sudden knock at the door has a very drunk Everett stumbling to open it as fast he could manage. There she was; his perfect little ginger, looking no worse for the wear. The first person he notifies is Grace and she comes immediately. With his world suddenly right-side up after being in a tailspin for two weeks, Ev has a new level of clarity. In a spur-of-the-moment decision he asks Grace to marry him and she says yes! [1884] | In April, Ev and Grace marry in Padmore Park on brooms, because what else would that wedding look like? Surprise! They’re expecting by August. Coincidentally, now that Grace is married she comes into a large inheritance from her brother’s estate. They’re set financially for a long time. [February 1885] | Another girl (no surprise there) joins the Grimm family, Esme Faith. By the late autumn they’re expecting again, whoops. [1886] | March, James is killed in a terrible carriage accident along with his brother-in-law. Devastated by the loss of his friend, Everett can only offer his condolences to Felicity and grieves privately. Rosalie Honor joins the gaggle of Grimm girls in July. Ev has resigned himself to being perpetually outnumbered for his entire life and he wouldn’t have it any other way.
