Thethe year is now 1894. It’s time to join us and immerse yourself in scandal and drama interlaced with magic both light and dark.
With the term winding down I though I would keep you abreast of my itinerary for the next few weeks, though it is generally simply. The term ends on 20th and I shall return the following day, though Sirius will be sent ahead of me at the conclusion of the feast on the Friday evening.
I assume the holiday preparations are being seen to for the children. Should there be anything I need to see to personally, please give me advanced notice if you can. I will have time the preceding weekend to see to anything necessary. Is everything running smoothly over there? Everyone behaving themselves? I trust Ursula is minding her manners and not going overboard for the children for the holiday.
Everything is quite in hand. The children's entertainment has been catered for while we are all under the same roof so they should be quietly content and Ursula will likely be abed for most of the holidays as she is getting very close to the due date. All things considered it seems increasingly possible that you and I will be each other's main companion for the majority of your time away from the castle, which I trust will be an agreeable prospect.
The only fly in all this is that mother wishes to visit, however I have successfully managed to put her back so far with only minor embellishments. I am in fact having certain parts of the wainscoting at Rigel House torn out and refitted, mother does not need to know that this cosmetic change is in fact not making the house uninhabitable. What I will say once she discovers we're Christmasing in London I'm not quite sure. Any thoughts? Another fog perhaps? I could claim we're hosting Ursula's family but I am slightly concerned word might get back to them and we shall actually have to endure them.
Relieved to hear everything us sorted, though I did not doubt you for a minute. Sirius and I will venture home together on the 20th, I'm sure that will appease Ursula in some fashion. It would make little sense to send him ahead when I will have wrapped up everything by then.
Sticky situation indeed. As I would rather not house any additional guests this season, perhaps we can simply employ Ursula's condition and temperament as enough of a deterrent? It will be too much hubbub anyway, should the child decide to arrive over the break, to have additional people to worry about. Mother should be able to stomach that. Otherwise I trust you can devise a better reason.
