The Minister of Magic has today announced the first new Wizengamot appointment of his tenure in office and we are pleasantly surprised to report that it is none other than Mrs Morwenna Skeeter who was, only a few months ago, elevated to the Head of the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures. Mrs Skeeter has been a feature of the Ministry for many years, however, she seems to have enjoyed a career renaissance of late with this new position being almost as long overdue as her last promotion.

"Mrs. Skeeter's long commitment to the Ministry offers her the perspective we need in the Wizengamot," Minister Ross explained, "She has my utmost confidence in her new position."

Although the Wizengamot does not operate on set numbers, it's possible that Minister Ross proposed Mrs. Skeeter's promotion due to the vacancy left after the accidental death of Mr. Herschel Dawlish. Unlike Mr. Dawlish, however, Mrs. Skeeter is a halfblood and does not come from a long-standing, old money family. She is also unlikely to face accusations of lechery.

Mrs. Skeeter is expected to vote with the progressive bloc of the Wizengamot, and her appointment has been celebrated by activists.
