Did You Know?
Braces, or suspenders, were almost universally worn due to the high cut of men's trousers. Belts did not become common until the 1920s. — MJ
Had it really come to this? Passing Charles Macmillan back and forth like an upright booby prize?

#9. Witness a Crime

March 25, 1895 — High Street

Georgia had a few errands to run this afternoon, and had apparently picked a popular time of day to do it. There was a bit of a crowd on the high street on this particular late afternoon, and it was a little bit of a squeeze as she exited the Post Office and joined the flow in foot traffic toward her next errand.

There was soon a break in things and Georgia had just a moment to breathe a sigh of relief when someone plowed suddenly into her from behind. "Oh!" She stumbled forward and then turned in time to see the unfortunate person behind her hit the ground where she'd been standing--and for someone else to take off at a sprint in the other direction. "Hey! Stop!"

Bloody hell. Did she look like she had much on her for someone to rob her? She assumed the target had been the woman she collided into or someone else. Then again, the only thief worth his salt around here was her own husband and the person running off was obviously not Marvolo. "He took my coin purse," she stated as she got back to her feet and prepared to chase down the thief.

Georgia paused to see that the woman was on her feet before turning to follow the thief. "We can't have that," she said. Imagine the audacity--stealing from someone in broad daylight.

"I suppose I should be flattered they thought I had much to steal," Morgana snarked as the woman followed the thief along with her. Well, at least she had backup? Morgana knew she and her husband looked regal but damn, her clothes were not exactly stellar with its patchworked spots. She was clearly working class. Morgana was going to make note of the thiefs face and have her husband teach him a lesson or two after she (and perhaps this woman?) had taught them a lesson of their own.

Rather than reply--because, well, there wasn't time to think of a polite thing to say!--Georgia drew her wand and sent a tripping jinx in the direction of the thief's feet--and hoped she didn't get a bystander in the process. She thought she had an opening, at any rate.
