Meet Philomen! He's kind of a nerdy goober because I have a type. Love him, please.

Friends. Philomen's a pretty friendly/affable guy, and honestly this is pretty open. His friends are probably mostly other MCAB dudes around his age, plus or minus a few years, but also any healers or academic types for friendly-professional or professional-turned-friendship relationships work too. He's also likely maintained close friendships he had during school. <3

Family. make his family please He's also connected to the Brownes and his bro is Cleander Huxley.

Hurling. He hasn't really given it much thought, but he's amenable I guess. XD Prospective ladies are probably MCAB, 18+. Ideal ladies are also probably nerdy to some degree. or hard of hearing and willing to smile and nod a lot Alternatively, apparently he's bisexual, so like. -wiggles eyebrows-

  

— Oz is friendly with his older brother (though we haven't actually established much there yet >>)

— I have a collection of men around his age: Xavier Davies (MC, older), Ford (MC, younger), Reuben Crouch (MC, older), Alasdair Greyback (UC, older), plus Juliana Ainsworth (female MC older)

— also of note Victor Daphnel was a healer before he died (though at Hogsmeade Hospital) and a similar age (slightly older). Victor has pronounced that Magical Bugs is the least interesting healing field so I could maybe see them having a playfully antagonistic working relationship if their paths crossed? Ida Chang fits the fellow nerd academic bill for his network Idk if werewolves fall into 'infectious disease' category but that could be an area where she reached out to him to ask.

Closer to his age is Thomas Harvey, who's affable talk to anyone in Hogsmeade type but poor. He makes drinks. He drinks drinks. I dunno, I want to add more to his life. xD There's a bit of eyebrow wiggle here as well.

Fortitude Greengrass - Victor being dead makes things awkward, but Philomen can be convinced to ignore the awkwardness in favor of talking about his favorite subject. XD Alternatively, we could always back-date?? I'm down to work with either!

Ida Chang - Oooh, I feel like his general response would be "I don't know, but that would be fascinating to look into"*. Maybe she writes to him? Also down for Philomen/Thomas. Is there a place he's likely to be that they could run into each other?

I have a few school connections.

Gus was a couple years above him but also a Hufflepuff, so they could have interacted. He's a sweet kid and befriended a lot of people during his Hogwarts years. I think their personalities would go well together. There's also a potential for a former fling in their past, if they click xD<3

He works with Delilah Warbeck and also overlapped with her at Hogwarts. They could potentially be coworkers turning into friends?

My main connection is Richard here who has almost always been his boss. xD Richard was Magical Bugs Ass. Head from 1884-1887, Magical Bugs Healer in Charge from 1887-1892 and then Hospital Director. xD Richard always did his best to maintain an amiable relationship with his colleagues. <3

Cleon Broadmoor was his dormmate and is also very gay.

Alvin Bixby was a year behind in Ravenclaw; Bronwyn Moony a year ahead, also Ravenclaw, Winnie is in the healing ~sphere as a midwife, but not exactly, I guess; Tala Moreno was also a year ahead in Ravenclaw, but only completed OWLs; and Tabitha Chevalier is a healer at HH who also hovers around Gideon sometimes, a much younger half-veela, but super sweet!

So today marks the day that Lady learned Magical Bugs means Magical Diseases, and not magical insects :P otherwise I would have recommended Philomena here since her brother is an entomologist lmaooo but either way, I am still recommending Phie since her family owns Evergardens and they give access to their poison garden to healers from the hospitals! xDD

I have Caltheus Rookwood and Mabel Brighton who are both in Spell Damage and a Mediwitch respectively.

Really into this! Juliana isn't known to research lycanthropy (or do any sort of formal writing whatsoever) since she uses a pseudonym but there's a few ways this could happen. Either he writes to Marlowe Forfang as the premier lycanthropy researcher and they exchange letters for a while, or if he was doing research in Crowdy and Juliana saw/heard him she would def be nosy enough to poke her head in and subtly make sure he's not on the wrong track.

Also I am going to need more stuff for her to do after the election ends so I'd love this to be one of the things!

I think it's likely Phil would try to send a letter first! I don't think I've done a letter thread in ages, I'm using Philomen as an excuse to write a couple, lol.

Also (Tycho Dodonus @"Daffodil Potts" Philomena Sprout) my brain is slow on the "actual thread ideas" front right now but if anyone needs a thread for anybody, I am down to throw Philomen in. <3
