Flip has a volatile personality, not least because he was under the Imperius Curse from the age of 19 to 42. I am looking for:

❧ People from Before— people who went to school with him; Philip was friendly enough, but not the most sensitive – mockery could lead to bullying. He would have grown up in traditional UCPB circles but might have expanded his circles during his schoolyears, judging more on the person than their background. He was also very into quidditch. After school he travelled for a few months with friends and had been in conversation with some quidditch teams before he (forcibly) ~changed paths.

❧ People from During— After that, Philip was wildly different. Did you try and call him out on it? Did our friendship fall apart? Did Philip suddenly get boring? Did he bully you once and was suddenly perfectly polite? Calling anyone who's been in the Ministry forever, people involved more widely in research or who would have an interest in Ministry reports of any kind; and in general, more strait-laced UC/MC sorts. In this period Philip was mild and scholarly and a loyal family man.

❧ Fallout for Now!— Calling people from During and people from Before! I want to revisit/compare and contrast any and established relationships in the Present with Real!Philip. It may be an inevitable disaster but I'm sure it will be fun. xD

❧ The Near-Miss— Just in case this fits into anyone's history, at one stage Imperius!Philip was close to getting engaged in 1878 to an UCPB woman. There was no scandalous fallout – it was only the early days of a courtship – but, notably and inexplicably, he didn't do it. This might have been some reflection on the woman and Philip's real opinion of her (maybe he would have hated her) or it could have had nothing to do with her at all, and his moment of rebellion was just aimed at his father. Either way, in my head Philip has a weird Blank Corner of his head about her and why their engagement didn't happen. xD

❧ Rowle connections— Philip might not be best buds with his siblings, but he probably still has had some interaction with the people in their lives! Also people who are friendly with his wife Alexandra Rowle.

Okay so hear me out, I mentioned in one of Jules' threads that a bunch of departments are trying to push things through the Minister's office prior to the election and Juliana is ruthlessly culling them into the revise and resubmit pile to keep Ross' workload manageable, so if you want an excuse for him to get real miffed at work I could make that happen. xD Jules like "oh I don't need to be nice about this, Philip Rowle is always so open to criticism" and then —

Oz is half a dozen years younger but probably similar social circles as he's an inventor (and when his bff was played said bff worked on the Research Committee) — Oz probably only knows him from the during and assumes he's boring. At some point this fall he could try and court him for an endorsement if you're into that.

The only person I have close to him in age is the one-year-younger Siobhan Hanrahan, whom he might've known during school; he would know what had happened not too long after her debut, as well, as it wasn't precisely kept secret that she was courted by and subsequently married to a vampire, haha.

As for work acquaintanceships, Orpheus Newberry is the closest connection I've got. I don't know what would connect them specifically besides "they work in the Ministry in very different departments" but...well, it's what there is in my roster. That being said, Orpheus is part of his own outside-of-work plot that would probably make Philip very unhappy!

I am deactivating my best bet for you xD Roberto and him can do things when Roberto is back from his mourning deactivation.

I also have Eleanora Tripe who is Alexandras baby sister!

Lionel Lupin and Kentigern MacFusty were both on the Gryffindor team and had some overlap! Tiger was only a year above him and Lionel was a year below him. Lionel would potentially have definitely considered him a friend and be the type he sought to have in his social circle.
